according to eye witnesses from back in the day, the hat came into common use when von had a hair dying accident circa 84. he fried his hair and it all started coming out in huge clumps.

during this period of hair re-growth he had a habit of wearing a baseball cap when around and about town, presumably when situation called for him to be less "dressy"...

How strange to see this back ... I was searching through old PMs only earlier this week trying to track down the links to that James Ray live album and came across some messages between you and I.
