Best - the two books I asked for:
The Closed Circle : Jonathan Coe (the follow up to 'The Rotters' Club')
Margrave of the Marshes - ... you know the authors
17" LCD/TFT monitor - Not Bad!
Worst - arthritis of the feet and hands

Best: My GF unpacking the Terry Pratchett 'Soul Music' DVD
Worst: seeing my mother slide down the gruesome Multiple Sclerosis ramp of Doom. Her being taken up in hospital again tomorrow was the only thing on her mind today. Even more than unpacking pressies and seein' her own family gathered again for what was supposed to be a 'happy occasion'.
There is no god. Or he is good in hide-and-seek.
IZ OFF.

Sorry to hear that IZ
Best present - the bucketloads of Lush, Body Shop and Neal's Yard toiletries I received
Worst present - my mum in tears because of things

Best:
Sentimentally, it's got to be the cute ornamental kitten (from someone very special ), which is now decorated with the ribbon + bell from my chocolate reindeer
In terms of the one which has provided the most enjoyment today, I'd say the Editors CD
Worst:
The Parker biro I got in my stocking. Not a bad present, since I've been in need of a decent pen which won't smudge, but it's just not a very exciting one to unwrap in comparison to the others
Edit: Sorry to hear it Izzy, hope there are brighter things on the horizon for you both

Ah, well... not that this was a recent happening, lads und lasses.
She's been diagnosed with MS since 1992, but it is the slow kind.
Still not sure if it is any better than the fast kind tho
As of late, it is starting to feck up her head, and that's much worse than fecking up her nerve system, IMO
And it is during these periods of the year that I am feeling a bit sentimental about it all.
Thanks for the support anyway.

Best - pair of killer 80's boots with buckles up the sides... laaarrrrvvvvely!
Worst - some novelty socks and an awful lot of chocolate, thanks to my mum. She bloody knows I don't like chocolate. But I feel bad saying that, because she's been very good to me this year , all things considered.
All in all, not the horrendous day I was dreading. And even better, now it's over and I can go and buy a sh1tload of cheap clothes tomorrow in the sales. Huzzah!
*hugs* to both Iz and Libs (and their mums) .

Best & Worst because it was the only one:
This incredible ridiculous accessoire I got from the wife of my father. It lets the Barbara Streisand christmas CD shine in a brighter light.

Put their heads on f*cking pikes in front of the venue for all I care.

Feel sorry for you as well, Libby & Iz
Best present here: The DVD/HDD recorder, truly a marvel of modern days electronics
Though my in-ear iPod headphones are very useful too, Heart&Soul by Joy Division is very enjoyable and the whisky tasted good
Worst: We always have dinner for christmas with my father's family (which was yesterday) but because one of my cousings being rather rude to an uncle it looks like this was the last time, and this actually is the only time we all see eachother together

Best - Lovely DVD-Writer, which no doubt means more weeding (when I can afford it). Lovely new wedding ring (lost the last one ). Lovely fooking HUGE bottles of spirits.
Worst - it ain't possible to get a 'worst' prezzie, in my opinion. The worst event was definitely everyone falling asleep by 10PM, just as I was revving up. B@stards.
Iz / Libs - my thoughts are with you both.

There is increasing evidence to suggest that Chris may have been being sarcastic.

This time of year really polarizes THINGS, I think that's why I hate it so much
Being brave is coming home at 2am half drunk, smelling of perfume, climbing into bed, slapping the wife on the arse and saying,"right fatty, you're next!!"

Some kind of cultural symbolism, christophe?
Best post-Christmas Gift:
A Shure SM58 Mic which I should have my hands on by Wednesday. Lucky I got money really, explaining to my relatives why so much needs to be spent on a single microphone when my current one cost 12 quid might have been a tad tricky
