It also said the combination of the title Get Rich or Die Tryin' and the image of 50 Cent with a gun "could give the impression that success could be achieved through violence".

Pfft. Let him off if he solemnly swears to never again move his lips on a record. That way he can't sue for loos of earnings, since a "musician" obviously has more markettable skill than just trying to cram as many gun references and "motherfcuker"s into a "song" as possible...

duh..."gangsta rapper in gun shock" etc. these people need to get out more- what do they expect his imagary to involve?
yes it's a shame that the relatives of child-victims of gun crime are upset by these posters; but really isn't that just unfortunate coincidence that is being used to deflect the blame for the real crime?
once again something lame is being scapegoated for the sake of (the police's inability to catch) some cunt who shoots kids.
all censorship is wrong.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

I agree with Lee. We have the most stringent gun-control laws in the world here in the UK; is it 50 Cent's fault that the Police can't enforce them?
Although I'm fighting my inclination to say "ban this sick filth", simply because I think 50 Cent is a talentless oxygen-thief.

I hate what gangsta rap culture promotes, the degredation of women in their videos as much as the violence, but I totally agree with Lee on censorship.
However, argument shouldn't be censored either. Anyone has the right to say what they think is disgusting.

Put their heads on f*cking pikes in front of the venue for all I care.
I've been meaning to write an essay on the right to dissent, but I've not gotten around to it. Bluntly, I don't believe that someone should be allowed to voice an opinion that being black is morally reprehensible, for example. It in no way affects the person complaining and cannot be changed by the person offending. If one is to exercise freedoms as a moral right, then they should limit them within moral constraints too. Stating that something unchangeable (literally, not probabilitiscally) is wrong and expecting it to magically disappear is clearly a violation of the principle upon which the right was granted.

10 bob? Nonsense. I haven't seen the film so I can't comment on it. There are some interesting films of that genre so I won't critise it - Baby Boy, Boys in The Hood etc are all good insights into that life style in the projects. Guns are very much part of their lives.
But who are these 17 people who have so little in their sad little lives.
I always think the same about people who bother to call into radio phone-ins.
