What's with all this then?

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Which way are you reading it? Horizontal or vertical?

That should say last of the red ones. The character is "ai", the only reason I know it is because Japanese borrows it.

So my Japanese vocabulary consists of "thank you" and "I love you." Now I just need to learn "long time" and I'm set. 8) Any help there Mike?

Hiragana, Katakan or Kanji?

I'd recommend Kanji, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

They're used together. Hiragana represents phonetically spelt Japanese words, Katakana represents phonetically spelt western words and Kanjia is just stolen from China.

A friend from Orkney has told me that the local council have taken down the Twatt sign, because of tourists constantly stopping to take photos of it. I'm surprised they needed to - I thought it would have been stolen very quickly.
