I think as time draws nearer, the likelihood of a new album being released for this tour is highly unlikely.
This is arguably the largest tour in over 20 years and I still have optimism that in the next month we could see our money exchanging hands for official product.
Perhaps either the long awaited/shelved DVD may be available at the shows? or a single?
Thoughts?
Possiblility of Product
i am up for this - and quite shure that something finally is happening behind the public curtain! although i would not dare to say which product and at what date of release.
and my level of disappointment if nothing's gonna happen is very low these days......

If they were going to release a new product, would Adam choose this moment to leave the band? When would they have recorded the songs? Surely Adam would've been on the recordings?
Von needs to get German TV to use Summer as the theme for World Cup '06!

another shade of you
can make it summer

Don't Brazil play in yellow and blue?

One of the great things about the Sisters; you hardly ever know what's going to happen.
Who would have expected a 25 gig tour in North America?
About the recording stuff. Adam "left" the band after the last gig in August 2005. A new album can be finished. Maybe Christo joined a while ago to dive into the studio with Von and Chris and it's kept a secret. Who knows.
But on the other hand if that would be the case the thingy would be released or promoted by now. So I guess no new product now....

I would agree that if they signed the "big deal" and a release was on its way, Adam probably would still be a Sister.
But I am careful to question Adam's departure and draw any correlations to a release or lack thereof. Following the understanding that it was Adam that blocked any minor/independent release of his material, Andrew could possibly put out a taster of things to come sans Pearson material.
Besides, could Adam still possibly be in the Sisters as a matter of convenience, a la Chris Starling or even Mike Varjak (am i the only one who finds it strange that Andrew would include who Mike still fancies on the What We Like page if Varjak were still on the fringes of the Sisters camp?)

It would be great if Adam's departure allowed the release of Sisters material on an indie label. But, as Von seems to like celebrating dates, ok- a certain date, in the sister's history, X, XX and XXV, wouldn't 16-2-06 be a suitable release date for a new product?
Also, if they were going to release a product this year, wouldn't it be common sense to release it before their biggest tour for years? Wouldn't the record company want it released before the tour, just to cash in on some extra CD sales?
Sorry to be so negative, I can't see it happening.

I think Bill has some very fair points there. Especially when it took them 15 years to get to release something new I don't think any record company would accept too much smoke and mirrors about it. I'm rather sure they'd demand the big fireworks to be brought on then...

Which is why I think the notion of an indie single available on the tour is a possibility. Show the demand, make the ask, sign the deal.
Besides, as a fan of 20 years, I would be disappointed to see a rushed and half-assed approach to releasing a new album after all this time.

At the risk of sounding a bit negative...
If they had signed a deal of some kind or were about to release product why on Earth wouldn't they announce it? Even if not formally somebody would know and word would get round.
Something that's popped into my head while typing this though -
Now he has his 2 new axemen I'd have thought they'd be on some kind of deal where he can release live material etc. without their 'say-so' - that would at least allow for a cottage-industry release of some kind. Putting some money in his coffers and something tangible in our hands.
Or is even that clasping at straws?

I don't think we're going to see anything new aside from tour t-shirts for sale at these shows.
Even if they had one independent single lined up...surely they would have it out before the tour...even a new single might mean new interest, might mean better ticket sales, etc. If the problem was always 'competent exploitation' and proper promotion, why bother with an independent single (eight years after 'Summer''s non-release)?
An album? I don't Von would go home-grown after holding out for a major for so long. I think, as lots have said, that with no record company interest, he's content to take his product (the songs) on the road, and if a record company is interested after this long North American tour, then great. If not...we'll all be travelling around the world for a few more years to hear the wonderful sounds.

does anyone know how this N. American tour has come about?
i'm not up on the specifics but i thought to tour there you need the necessary visas, for which a record company usually acts as a sponsor.
2 or 3 years ago NMA started touring the US after a decade, and went on an exploratory tour to prove to an american distributor/label who sponsored their tour visa to prove there was a market for them there.
so this happened, showed there was an audience, have toured the US in the past couple of years more than they have Europe, and they have got their back catalogue re-released in the US.
could be wrong about this, but i'd find it odd the sisters would get visas to tour based on a handful of european festival dates over the past couple of years without a sponsor...

No chance of an album. No way.
However, after this tour maybe a different matter.
Get the punters back, play songs to people who may not have heard them (Non UK residents/bootleg owning Sisters fans apart) before. There's a big market out there folks.
& who knows...
I don't, but I sure as hell think there'd be some interest if this tour rockets. & lets face it. It will.
I know Robochrist is up fo recording so why not?
If it takes young blood to prompt it, then play on.
I'm beyond hoping now.... I'm truly believing.
The machine WILL power on

Tour Thing was a promotional item by Elektra wasn't it? And not generally available to the public.
Matt..
who will be very surprised to see anything for sale other than gaudy t-shirts which i'll no doubt buy, even though i sure as hell don't need amy more.

what a strange selection of tracks
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
