dont click it!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

man, this is strange

http://www.dontclick.it/

an experiment in user interface design.

basically, you dont click any links. just hovering over them open them.

see how long you can navigate around it, without feeling the urge to click

its very disorienting too - stuff "just happens" without you realising your cursor triggered it. :urff:

interesting :notworthy:

It's fancy, though IIRC as Laz said the previous time we had something like this, it's not very accesible for certain people...

The 'bozo' designer I work with (the teacher's favourite, of course) insisted that we use up our graphics software/hardware budget on Intuos 3 Graphic Tablests for both of us, I said I'd like to try one out first. When I was in hospital, she steamrollered it through. We now have two, rather expensive cardboard boxes gathering dust.
I really can't get to grips with a graphics tablet and stylus, even the 4 button/scroll wheel mouse freaks me out!

the above is all too similar an experience

You are a Mac-user... even a two-button mouse gives you nightmares, James! ;D

I didn't find it that weird to be honest. The thing that annoys me from a programmer's perspective, however, is the need to create your own method of confirmation. A click doesn't generally happen by accident, whereas a mouse-over can. Clicks can easily confirm actions, but it was evident in the demo that mouse-overs require extra user input to make something happen. What was once "Move -> Click" becomes "Move -> Await Confirmation -> Move" which requires more concentration and adds an extra step to the process in question, making it, imho, a bad usability decision.

Didn't like it. Didn't like the way a window opened and covered the menu, then when click on the menu to bring it to the foreground it tells you you're a w@nker.

Two buttons good, scroll wheel even better.

Two buttons, scroll wheel, All-In-One Gestures plugin for Firefox (functions such as forward, back, open tab, open new window, etc, all done by holding down right-click and moving the mouse).

Better than Heaven. ;D
