Just got back from a top nite out.

Two hours of heaven AND a cover of Transmission into the bargain. All the hits and more, costume changes a-go-go and the sight of Uncle Peter hurling a beer can back into the audience and commanding the perpetrator, "C'mon, show yourself.." Very menacing, and a nice line in understated violence.

What else? Incredible atmos, the best shades this side of Batley, and the strange feeling that Murphy is turning into Lon Chaney...

Good to see The Quiffster, Reverberator, Motz, Scardy and she-who-mustn't-be-mentioned (nice to bump into you outside).

Hate to say it but the Silver Bullet better be pretty good after this...

I'll second that emotion > A theatrical performance to rival that of the finest Thespians > A proper drummer > A quality guitarist > A stunning base player in David Jay > And The Maxell Man strutting his stuff,adorned in his sweeping black Count Dracula cape > They were quality > I had thought I may regret this if they didn't live up to the last spectacle I obseved way back in 82,but the show was immaculate,faultless,dare I say,stunning.Burning From The Inside,In The Flat Field,In Fear Of Fear,All We Ever Wanted Was Everything,God In An Alcove,Terror Couple,Hair Of The Dog,She's In Parties,Telegram Sam,Ziggy,Severance,Hollow Hills,Stigmartyr,Swing The Heartache,Dark Entries,Rosegarden Funeral,Passion Of Lovers,Kick in The Eye,Bela Lugosi's Dead. Joy Division's Transmission deadicated to 'an old friend' with A St Vitus Dance Interlude was the highlight of the evening,with Murphy,hands swirling,dancing ln a copy book Ian Curtis-esque fashion.Well worth a trip to Birmingham tomorrow or London friday if you can bunk off work.

Doktor and Gripper's reviews say it all! :notworthy:

The stageshow wasn't quite as impressive as the one they had for the 1998 gigs IHMO but the band were on top form. Setlist was perfect, with Double Dare the only glaring omission as far as I could tell.

Got home at 4am, in work for 9am. :roll:

Ended up a bit worse for wear by the end of the night coz i turned out too early in sheer excitement. Great gig! Wish i'd got the other tickets for the UK gigs now.

Anyways, excuse if it's been mentioned on another thread but did any of you lot get that flyer with Sisters suposedly playing there at the end of April?
