Best Intros In The World... Ever!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I don't think these are intros, more songs that start off in a way that interests. yeah?

"Good evening Seattle!" that's an intro
"And when you start to think about death, you start to think about what's after it. And then you start hoping there is a God. For me, it's a frightening thought to go nowhere".

was listening to Siouxsie's 'Once Upon A Time' today and most of the songs there could be listed here - Mirage, Playground Twist, Love in A Void, Happy House, Arabian Knights etc etc :notworthy:
the same about most of the Sisters songs - particularly the early ones - Adrenochrome, Alice, Good Things, Heartland, Temple Of Love etc and Floodland songs - Lucretia, Floods, Driven Like The Snow, Never Land (also the new live version) etc etc etc :notworthy:
but in addition to all of them and many other sby Sisters and Siouxsie...
New Model Army - Here Comes The War
Ministry - Isle Of Man
Iggy - Passenger
Leather Nun - Gimme Gimme (chopper mix)
...
well, today an old stinking man went to the kitchen to take his medicin and switched on the radio. there was Sweet Dreams... by Eurythmics and THAT was very good :notworthy: great intro as well.
which makes me remember that Tainted Love by Soft Cell belongs to this list too.

Fields of The Nephilim="The Watchman" *I'm well aware The Neff aren't that popular with TSOM fans,but ignore the lyrics and and vocals,listen to the intro*
Guns N Roses="Sweet child of mine"
Faith No More="Epic"
TSOM="Black Planet"
Siouxie and The Banshees="Israel"
The Cult="Rain"
TSOM="We are the same,Suzanne"*"New" song,is very good,recently realised no Pearson involvement,so can continue thinking him a spare ***** with a good conscience..*

It is very good, but (as pointed out elsewhere) borrowed from I Wanna Be Adored by The Stone Roses.

Athanku!

Late addition:
Bauhaus="Passion of lovers"

Most people would say Bela,but am I the only one who finds that song tedious and overblown?

i wouldn't say bela.. is tedious but it is not one of their strongest tunes -although i agree that Passion of Lovers is.

if we're talking nephilim intros it has to be love under will; IMO the best song on the second album.

Last Exit for the Lost gets my vote on both counts.

*Edit*

Preacher Man has a cracker of an intro :notworthy:
Though not from the second Album, before anyone jumps in with cries of "Scotty ya fud" :lol:

whenever i play it my dog's ears go right up, she puts her head on one side then the other, growls like buggery and starts running around looking for (i think) whoever's making that sobbing noise. it seems to really unnerve her in a way that nothing else does.
