Hello boys & girls
I'm brand new to the forum, and therefore very sorry if the issue has been raised before...
Do you know the Discomania record shop in Brussels ? Good place for everything dark and loud. First time I visited the place they were playing some Motorhead.
I understand the owner of the place is a huge TSOM fan. They do have some good stuff. Their collection of vinyl bootlegs is quite impressive.
And rest assured I'm no employee from the store. We're just talkin' here !
On the other hand, don't you think that Camden blows as far as records go these days ? I was a student at University of Leeds in 97-98, and there was more TSOM boots being sold at the Union back then than nowadays in the whole of Camden. What a shame.

Welcome indeed
From Belgium then, as you're refering to a Brussels record shop?
My favourite shop has to be Vinyl, here in Antwerp, I just love the atmosphere and the collection, and according to radiojamaica their collection is tops too!

Belgium that is. The land of EBM.
Sorry folks, no offense meant. I just never was into that Front 242 stuff.
You can trust me on this : one the few good remaining places for boots. Highly recommended. And the city is lovely + beer is soooo cheap. So you've nothing to lose.

Yeah Camden is pretty s**t for Sisters boots and merch really.
Resurrection Records has F&L&A vinyl (last time I checked) and the market at the Electric Ballroom had a Floodland flier... i don't know who has that now...
The clothes markets have a Merciful Release shirt (the one Craig Adams wears in them early b&w sisters photos) and a "f**k Me And Marry Me Young" shirt...
There's also a bootleg shop near Cyberdog that has a £20 Tilburg boot...
I WANT MORE!
if someone could point me in the direction of more sisters stuff in Camden it would be greatly appreciated coz I'm making the monthly trek tomorrow.

Yeah, I saw all that last time I was there (last august). I managed to get myself the Paradiso 83 boot on CD at a reasonable price, but that's about it.
Resurrection records also had a couple of 45s, including Anaconda, which I had bought just weeks before from a vinyl dealer in... Oxford ! I love the city, used to live there, but you can hardly call it the most r'n'r place on Earth. Or in that respect it's just as r'n'r as Camden.

Oh sorry I'm not from Brussels ! I just misread you guys. Was there a couple times, and I just think that there's few boots dealers as nice as Discomania these days.
I'm from Strasbourg, France. We too are heavy beer drinkers. And my fav record shops are called Music Garden (my own soul music dealer) and Fun House. It's called after the awesome Stooges and it still has got boots in reasonable quantity and quality. Not as good as in the early 90s but you can't complain too much.

What's wrong with the road system in Belgium or Brussels? We just paved the whole of Belgium to become one big motorway. That not good enough for you?eastmidswhizzkid wrote:hold on -i have been there twice, only the second time was an accident as we were driving through belgium on our way to the czech republic...interesting road system that city of yours.

I understand weeding is a fine tradition, but I feel a tad uneasy about it. I don't have a huge TSOM boot collection (I do have some nice non TSOM pieces though, but that's off the topic), and so not much to trade for.
I've saddly passed on a lot of boots throughout the years. For example when the Puppet show CD came out I didn't get it. I either thought it wasn't worth it, or I simply didn't have the cash.
s**t happens.

specifically? the brussels inner-ring road and it's accompanying one-way system/system with few or no oppurtunities to turn around should you have gone the wrong way. and all the long underpasses.Obviousman wrote:What's wrong with the road system in Belgium or Brussels? Oh yes, the Brussels ring is as good as it gets! Even me, hardcore belgian got completely lost on there... Maybe you should try it someday, Zeno Then again, I get lost everywhereeastmidswhizzkid wrote:specifically? the brussels inner-ring road and it's accompanying one-way system/system with few or no oppurtunities to turn around should you have gone the wrong way. and all the long underpasses.Obviousman wrote:What's wrong with the road system in Belgium or Brussels? Yesterday I paid another visit to the DiscoMania shop in Brussels and what I saw was shocking! There's no more Sisters stuff around or other interesting stuff. No goff or metal s**t either
The big Head & Star logo is still firmly on the black wall, but the fella told me he now only sells his stuff through the web...

Then what's left
I can now say that the good old days of commercial bootlegging are officially over ! Thank god we still have weeding and Dime, so it's not such a bad thing.
Still they were one of the very last shops where you could find very rare Sisters/goth/EBM/whatever items.

For no reason I said I didn't like EBM and then felt really stupid when I read some of your replies.
