Why does everybody sound so down? :wink:

It sounds like it was simply a gig with bad sound and new band members to break in. Perhaps they simply could have done with a warm up gig somewhere - perhaps Las Vegas WAS the warm up gig!

It'll take them a few weeks to tighten up and then when they hit Europe they will be the mad unstoppable force we know and love.

Perhaps they are learning to play the old familiar stuff well before slipping in the new stuff (or maybe there isn't any).

Lets wait and see! They can only get better and better!

Not down Jez. Slightly disappointed but far more excited and happy.... :D

You might be right about that warming up. In 2003 the new song Slept wasn't performed in Amsterdam but was the gig(s) after. So let's wait and see what happens.... 8)

I went to the afore mentioned Amsterdam gig, and it was the worst
Sisters gig i have been to. (apart from the Astoria in London night2:2001)
...and I've seen them 20 times or so.
that night they were not *bad*, just in warm up first-night-at-the-theatre
mode, and it wasnt too much fun, that's all.

Well, Tilburg last year definately was a good first gig on the other hand...

Not a single interview for 52 gigs? Don't know what the not-so fanatic crowd will say of that :|

Hm, I think it -is- a surprise. New guitar player, biggest tour ever, playing places they have never been to before. There are lots of topics with which you can avoid unpleasant questions about a new album ;-)

If it's true at all; I thought Andrew himself was now the tour-manager.

EDIT: Also, he did at least two interviews during Smoke&mirrors, in Warsaw and in London.

Reading between the lines it sounds like all the guitar parts & arrangements (apart from maybe Alice) are the same? This'd be the first time the line-up's changed without making any changes to the sound of the band...

I don't mind if they have a slow start - it's ages before they're playing a show I'm seeing :twisted: :innocent:

(I was at that A'dam show '03 - it was cack!)

Hmm, I was hoping that they would have a real bassplayer instead of the doctor this time... Makes you wonder, would there be a financial reason for not having a bass-player (to pay)?

It was stonking, but not a first gig.... Leeds 05 was the first. ;D And that one was great, despite the sound problems.... 8)

ok so y'all seem a bit disappointed by the setlist -what did you expect (not want) ? so there's no new songs/record... do you think that eldritch would be capable of putting-out to the tune of 52 dates if he had just spent forever in a studio? we know that's not the case anyway -taking into account downtime after the summer gigs, adam leaving, ben joining, planning a tour and christmas (yes some people celebrate christmas in the rock 'n' roll world too) what chance have they had? sorry, but the new album theory behind this tour was a no-brainer from the start.
i have also stopped thinking of this as a farewell tour -it's a thank-you tour even if it is the last. and look at it this way -if we hadn't had 52 big thank-you's from eldritch (where everyone in the civillised world at least gets a chance to see them :P )
