Last night VT as an opener, this time Snub Nose?

I can see VT opening, but Top Nite Out is very odd a choice, isn't it :?:

Lucretia to open the next one then?

I'm sure it has some significance for Von with regards to America being backwards

Just got back myself from SD...

Warlocks... could be better, but, songs all have the same type of structure, and sound, with the exception of the one that starts like Stevie Wonders "Higher Ground".

SOM... I enjoyed the performance, the song structure, the effort, but two things:

1: They REALLY need a guy that can mix the sound. Nearly every song Eldritchs vocals were absent, except on the occasion where he would scream.

2: It is time for a drummer guys. I dont care how legendary Doktor is, its time to bring some life into the drums and the performance. Time to get some room echo, and not just cheap drum beats.

Id rate it 5/10.

my immediate response to calls for a live drummer is an indignant FUCK OFF!.....but everybody's entitled to an opinion.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Well it is not professional if the Sisters don't bring their own engineer, that's probably the case, like Bauhaus did on their tour, this is a real pity ...

Maybe different but not odd IMO.

I can see TNO as a nice opening song. :D

Bit of a short setlist again. What about the intro?

I wouldn't call them 'encores'. But they took two short breaks between a couple songs at the end, so I guess you could say they were encores.

Warlocks = suck. I really hope this whiney indie rock thing dies soon.

Sisters = rock your sock off.

A few people I talked to that had seen them before said they were kinda dissapointing. But I had never seen them before so I had no expectations to begin with. I thought it was a great show. I had no problems hearing his vocals, I thought he sounded great. Maybe I was just in a good spot:) The only thing I could complain about is that A.E. looks terrible with a shaved head.

Unfortunately, unless Von invests in a wig, I don't think there's much he
can do about the shaved head.
Time catches up with us all sooner or later. :innocent:

Morning !

6 hour drive from Vegas to SD yesterday after the i215 was closed (with us on it) due to a 20 car police chase & crash

Good job then that it was a great show last night.
Ben lot more confident & the kick off with Top Nite Out/SN was inspired.
Both hammered it stage front.
In fact later on Von had to nudge Ben from centre front.. with a smile.
More relaxed band and they looked like they enjoyed it more.

Sound was also better IMHO, more volume & smoke, as it should be

Anyway, no more whittering, here's what you REALLY want... crappy cellphone pics !! (apologies to anyone on 56k dial up)..

Not a big fan of most of the newer stuff (although Summer is pretty ok); but I don't have any problem with the playlist. Yes, not as original as one would've hoped for a 25th anniv tour, but well hey.... the best is yet to come, it'll change a bit over time.

And of course the Sisters don't need a drummer!!! Duhh....

Likewise, I don't think they need 'a guy that can mix the sound'. The problem is that for the past few years there just IS too much sound, and :von: just has to start howling and screaming like a sow in heat to top the guitars.

I personally prefer the threat over the attack.... but who am I, right?

ah yes; nice pics, tx!

I played bass in a band (very briefly) in the early 90s, we did this charity gig and had a word with the guy on the mixing desk at our soundcheck, he asked for £25 to give us a good mix, we told him to fuck off!
Needless to say, we died that night.

Any band worth their salt will want their person on the sound desk, otherwise its a waste of time, energy and money.
