Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Chesterfield!
Fantastic!
The brand smoked by James Bond in the books.
3 packets a day normally, 1 when he was trying to get fit for something
A man after my own taste! Toasted american; the only way to go!
If you wanna quit, you really do need to want to quit. Snuff and chewing tobacco are fairly good at dealing with the chemical nesessity (especially for the mornings). Otherwise, moving onto milde shag 'll take some of the enjoyment out of smoking and the reduced content of additives will help you to quieten the "cravings".

I tried giving up soo many times and the only thing that worked for me was NiQuitin lozenges... Dunno why they worked when gum didn't, perhaps it was because the lozenges didn't make me feel sick and give me ulcers...
On the sweetened Marlboro front, totally agree that there's something going on there, I used to find every now and then you'd get a super sweet one.

Yup, you might end up looking like a vampire, and you wouldn't want that.

Why don't you ask the kids at Tiananmen Square
Was fashion the reason why they were there?
They disguise it, hypnotize it
Television made you buy it
@ Izzy - That is an very frightening list - it has really made me sit up and take notice of what I am injesting :-(
I also checked out the Philip Morris site - again a very scary list!
BTW there are many more horrible ingredients used in the paper/adhesive/ink/filter of the bloody things!
I honestly wish I had never started to bloody smoke! That said I do enjoy smoking and will miss it - purely for the pleasure of it when I finally give it up (hopefully the sooner the better!)
"For those smokers who want to quit but are having difficulty, there are many programs and products marketed as being helpful, including group classes, hypnosis, nicotine replacement therapies and smoking deterrents. The U.S. Surgeon General has said that "[s]moking cessation researchers have long recognized smoking to be a complex behavior influenced by physiological, psychological, cognitive and social factors...In general, most cessation treatments yield 1-year quit rates (based on all original participants) between 10 and 40 percent..."
I passively smoke at Chameleons gigs...I will not kowtow to the evilness that is Burgess
I gave up nearly 4 years ago now...and that was down to drugs!
I took the anti-smoking drug Zyban - before they took it off the market for killing people. Apparently it's back on now though)
Long story that involves a bit of cussedness on my part and the desire to make my doctor have to shell out some money on me as he wouldn't prescribe some anti-histamines to my son! I sat at home and thought...hhhmmmnnn what drugs will cost him money to prescribe to me? it was Zyban or Viagra - and seeing as I had a headache I plumped for the Zyban. THE BUGGER SAID YES!!!!! I was expecting a no in order for me to launch into a tirade about free healthcare and why he should have given my son the anti-histamine...but it back fired!!!!!
I was smoking 30 a day (menthol admittedly but still a tab when push comes to shove) and was dues to go on holiday (thae land of cheap smurkes) in two weeks...what I did not need was this!
Anyway, after ignoring the recommended way of taking the tabs I totally gave up after 10 days. No thrombosis for me, no hives, nor boils...just the lack of desire to smoke..PAH
Up until Christmas I could have said...and I've never smioked since...I had one fag on a rainy night in York after seeing Kelvin. If you knew kelvin you'd understand why. Saying that it might have been the copious amounts of AfterShocks, Absinthe and vodka...
I still sidle upto people and inhale deeply (or if I know them well get them to breath at me) and what I wouldn't give for a draw on a Berkley menthol.......
Ah
debaser
Five cups of coffee just to be myself...when I'd rather be somebody else
Take plenty of bath's. Just lie in there and soak and relax. Think about family, if you've got any. Sister's are particularly cool to think about, as if they've got children(that's assuming that you don't have any of your own first), the smelly Uncle Moron that is potentially paying them a visit.
I'm not calling it a total solution but it's one that I tried recently.
