This is perhaps a weird one, but...
Has anybody else noticed that 'More' is musically just a metal version of New Order's 'Blue Monday'..?
Strange, but seemingly true...

Which one is "Blue Monday"?
I'll explain. I'm not exactly the biggest fan of New Order but there are two songs everybody knows.
One starts with "I feel so extraordinary..." Is this "Blue Monday"? Or the other one?
If it is, no, I don't agree at all.
Oh, the other song has the word "beach". Is this Blue Monday?
Still, where do you hear "More" in there?!

Blue Monday starts with a drummachine that goes ompf ompf ompf ompf dadadadada and the line "how does it feel, to treat me like you do". Later on, lyrically, they walk down to the beach.
I must confess that I don't find the similarities overwhelming, but I may be wrong and I haven't investigated it any further.

Lars, not so sure about the More/Blue Monday thing....
They are both 1-7-5 progressions...pretty sure Blue Monday kicks off in D
whereas More is in C.....as with all these things there are a million songs
using the same pattern...
It's how you use it....

Honest, I'm not mad, though...it really did sound really similar - even tune wise, but that's just to my ears...how odd!

I think that blue monday is live drums & the beach is a drum machineCellThree wrote:Beach is the b-side to Blue Monday. It is an instrumental as far as I can remember.
Pretty sure that's the only difference
Although Barn(e)y ? apparently recorded Thieves like us after hearing the Sisters play Emma. so there you go
I've watched your face for a long time
It's always the same
I've studied the cracks and the wrinkles
You were always so vain
Well, now you live your life like a shadow
In the pouring rain
Oh, it's called love
Yes, it's called love
Oh, it's called love
And it belongs to us
Oh, it dies so quickly
It grows so slowly
But when it dies, it dies for good
It's called love
And it belongs to everyone but us
I've lived my life in the valleys
I've lived my life on the hills
I've lived my life on alcohol
I've lived my life on pills
But it's called love
And it belongs to us
It's called love
And it's the only thing that's worth living for
It's called love
And it belongs to us
It's called love
Yes it's called love
Oh, love is found in the east and west
But when love is at home, it's the best
Love is the cure for every evil
Love is the air that supports the eagle
It's called love
And it's so un-cool
It's called love
And somehow it's become unmentionable
It's called love
And it belongs to every one of us
It's called love
And it cuts your life like a broken knife
Goths have feelings too
