What is the meaning behind the head logo?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Excuse me if I sound like an idiot asking this, but what is the exact meaning and symbolism of the 'head' logo that is like the one that appears on the cover for a slight case of overbombing.

Here is an example:

Welcome, Wulung. Following up on Hom's sage advice, the answer really does lie within. Though within what, exactly?

The Doktor recommends commencing your reading in the section "The Muscles and Fasciae" - it's page 295 in my edition. Grace Slick suggested that we feed our heads, but I don't think that's what :von: has in mind...

Then again, given a certain belief that the net is "text for people who can't read," you could always ask our old friend Mr. Clicky
what it's all about...

picture a young eldritch and marx sitting in leeds central library pouring over typography books looking for an approriate font, and appropriate imagery for their budding record label...

Oh I can do that... :D
I especially liked the lower, dustier and quieter levels of the building. Only my business there was more humdrum, merely collecting material for politics essays and presentations.
BTW, is there any Sisters song about Uni of Leeds as such ? Doesn't seem obvious to me.
