Something for the Weekend

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Surprise that America - and consequently the world - is staring down a thirty-year stretch of conflict ending with a whimper as we run out of the last mineral resources? Not at all...

We've known this is coming since the seventies and eighties, when people started working out the time limit for our consumable materials. Control of these resources is going to become dominant in every nations' foreign policy, and, eventually, ultimate policy.

Who is going to oppose US neo-colonialism, though? The European Union? The Russian Federation? Probably only the People's Republic of China has the firepower to actively counter any American expansion...and that'll be a dust-up of global proportions

Sell your stocks, children.

I'll be long gone, should I care?

in the past when people have scoffed at such ideas, and scornfully admonished any who entertained them for daring to look beyond the obvious (and therefore suppodedly more likely) motives and agendas of those in power, i have tried to point out that these "tin-foil hat brigade" theories are the more likely and obvious motives and agendas.

i wonder if the new world order will exclude those people from any further unpleasantness on the grounds that they weren't notified in advance? :innocent:
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
