Does anyone know what time the show actually starts tomorrow. I see on tickets that doors open at 6:30 which is much earlier than I was anticipating.

I won't be there until around 8 since i'm driving up from columbus and don't get off work until 5. I'm sure sisters won't go on before that but I was really looking forward to seeing the warlocks too so I hope I don't miss them.

Hello boys and ghouls... just got home... about midnight EST... the bad news first... despite scouring the the State Theatres bowels ( long story) no sign of Von. Good news ran into Chris before and after the show, helluva nice guy, got him to sign setlist (from his side) "Who's setlist is that?" "Yours, do you want it back?" "No that's alright" Which is as follows:

A couple more tidbits:
Crash and Burn sounded fantastic, Giving Ground was unbelieveable
and it was good to hear Burn (thoughthe sound was pretty crappy).
The only -ve was Temple of Love. It was just a dirge, no life in it at
all. They should dump it.
A couple of people I dragged along didn't believe me when I said that
there was no drummer/bassist/keyboard player.... made me chuckle anyway.
As for Von. As I walked into the Theater he was standing right there chatting to some guy (chicago police jacket and a rather fetching hat), he was also seen walking around the bar while the Warlocks were on!
Anyway, enough from this long time listener/ first time writer.
Have a good time at future gigs.

3rd time seeing the sisters and honestly I was disappointed. The performance was pretty good and I won't complain about the song selection but the sound sucked and I believe it's pretty much the sisters fault The bass was not only overpowering it was loud to the point of muddying itself as well as the songs. The guitars were continually low in the mix which I think is partially what contributes to the songs not sounding like they're being performed live. And the vocals...were either inaudible or indecipherable on the verses and booming on the choruses or whenever von decided to sing loudly. There was no problem with getting his voice loud enough...if he had sang the same all through the show, but he doesn't.
And the sound for the warlocks was awesome. Everything balanced perfectly, 3 times louder than the sisters and the vocals could still be heard. So I really think this is the way the band wants to sound.
My musical tastes have evolved considerably in the 16 years I've been a sisters fan and the warlocks sound is right up my alley so I enjoyed them immensely. Probably even more than the sisters to tell the truth. It was still a good show and I'll still go see the sisters again if they come around here but I don't think i'd drive 6 hours to see them again.
Also there were some of the rudest assholes i've ever seen at any show ever present (and i've been to a lot of shows). I'm sure they know who they were and I'm sure they don't give a f**k but it's sad to think that people that stupid would be attracted to a band as cool as the sisters.

Greenhorn1, your show review practically read my mind as I was thinking the same things on the drive home. The Warlocks were in great form, but it was a real shame that Cory Lee is no longer with them. Had he been, you would have heard a whole other swirling guitar dimension. Cory provided such incredible texture and coaxed some exquisite sonic landscapes from his guitar. He will be missed. All the same, a good night out.

i was on the main floor and i'm sure i saw you although I don't really remember what you look like. I was one of the few people there with a white t-shirt on. short hair and glasses.

I've seen "The Sisters" three times and after last night, get the feeling they are on a downhill slide, or were far from into performing for their fans in Detroit.
They could have added more of their fan favorites and worked the sound to be louder and clearer. I moved locations throughout the whole night, because of different groups of people just carrying on conversations at normal tones which competed with the sound of the band. Were that many of you bored that you had to talk amongst yourselves (yeah, probably) There was very little energy on the stage last night.
Oh yeah, the show lasted barely over an hour and finished by ten. What's up with that? A girl next to me was explaining that she took the next day off work because she expected a solid, enthusiastic, and no so early wrap up to the show. I bet she was pissed off that she was home no later than catching the early playing of "Snow White" at the theater. I've always been a huge, solid fan of this band (and still am), but perhaps it's time to resort to my CD's and remember the good old years.
