The Cure deluxe reissues

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

being as i am first generation punk...and followed it through the heady 80's with retarded generation goth :roll: i find it quite amusing for all this labeling...it's just another way for society to make everything fit into the nice little jigsaw pieces...

i find that i like what i like...from being a huge Cure fan circa Seventeen Seconds (yeah Quiff brilliant album) to thinking that Bob had lost the way when Head In The Door was released i only recently decided to revisit them with open ears...i still don't like Head or Kiss Me...but the jury's still out with the 90's Cure getting more enjoyable as the year progresses...

Oh...the Glove album is a deffo...can't wait to hear that gem again with out scratches :innocent: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Wish is uneven for sure, but when it's good it's goooooooood.
Wild mood swings is weak. Real weak. Only Want stands out as a classic number.

Bloodflowers is soo much better than everything else it gives me shivers...the Trilogy live DVD (and CD-R rips) are what made me go and revisit the band again...i couldn't believe how much i had missed out on

Mock band / side project. Formed in late 79 to release the tension following extensive tour. The Cure and friends, including local postman Frank Bell on vocals.
Played one concert on March 18th 1980, released one funny single.
A joke really, but these two tracks are hilarious.

have the cure managed to get A Forest up to 15 minutes yet? or maybe 30?

last time i saw them live, on the Kiss Me tour, it was 12 minutes. the tour before it was 8 minutes, before that it was 6.

I have a 16'43" version from the Wish tour (92) with extra vocals (à la Faith 89), which has quite common in those days. They settled down a bit after that, and now it's about 8'.

Sure but apart from that extra-long version it's not such a great show. Sound quality ain't brilliant and the performance itself is a mere average. Do you have a favourite period ? Just ask, I've got them all (some of which still on tapes unfortunately).

well, i'm goddamn excited to be seeing my 23rd Cure show (since 1987) tonite at the Royal Albert Hall ~ benefit gig for Teenage Cancer Trust, 3hrs, no support (surgical or otherwise) with hippy axe god Porl Thompson (left The Cure for a while to play with Led Zep's Page & Plant) back on geetarrs ~ should be stonking!

Disintegration isn’t pop. It’s one of the greatest albums of all time and defiantly does not sound dated IMHO.

Disintergration, Seventeen Seconds, Pornography, and Faith are all great albums. I could care less for the rest of them.

Sorry no recording, but am sure one will turn up on dimeadozen... at least, i hope so! The show was being filmed ~ not sure of the chances of the entire thing being put on a dvd though as they played for 3 hours and 6 minutes!!!

This was the 4~man "no keyboards Cure" Massive, but tight rock sound, with Porl filling in a lot of the keyboard licks on his many guitar pedals. Drowning Man was gorgeous & i got to hear The Blood live for the first time in 23 shows! The show just went from strength to strength really. Although, the Royal Albert Hall had a ridiculous rule about no alcohol inside the arena, but the missus & i smuggled some in as the night progressed :twisted: Some of the crowd were a bit stiff ~ reckon they weren't smuggling the booze in like us...

Robert said "see you later this year" after A Forest (which clocked in at a mere 12-15 mins or so this time around)
