I should know the answer to this and feel reet stupid but I am getting on and I'm sure I've forgotten rather than never knew....(deep breath) but...Had Gary Marx left by the time they did the Albert Hall? (or was he wearing his invisibility belt?

Gary's last gig was at the Top Rank, Brighton on April Fool's Day 1985 (but he appeared with the band on The Old Grey Whistle Test a few days later).

Wake at the Albert Hall was on June 18th 1985.

He missed the rest of the european tour and the US of A in between.

But he'd gone on to begin forming Ghost Dance 8)

:D

Of course he had left. The last thing they did together was the Old grey whistle test TV show. His last gig with the Sissies : 1985/04/01 - Top Rank, Brighton.

Am I the only one who was hoping he'd invented an invisibility belt.

Surely not. Lots of people hoped he would appear or just pop up at the last minute... :von:

Marx was the best gutarist the sisters ever had IMO.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

It goes without saying mein host. I was considering the gimp suit - as usual. Sunsonic will be wearing the PVC thong. How I love that S & M garage of yours.

He was supposed to play though. At the time it was announced as the last gig for one of the members of the sisters, but when the smoke cleared during FALAA it became clear that there was a reason for the thin sound...

Also, I remember the gig was really early - so early that when we left there were still people arriving.

Yeah, Gary Marx was easily the best guitarist.
