the dr-55 wasn't out when the doktor started his career, surely? i bought mine new in '87. he was a roland tr-606 before that i thought. (i owned my tr-606 before the dr55).
though i must be wrong if the official site says that.
edit: having just looked at the TSOM site i stand corrected -and my drum machine wasn't a dr55...apparently it was a dr55E.
