I am in No Way making an English to English comparison. If that's how you understood it, then I am sorry. I did not mean to.
Do me a favor and check out Mexico City and Monterry threads. Olga put up a beautiful and much enthusiastic review, with set lists and all. It is one of the best and positive threads on here. You can tell that the language did not stop her from doing that.
Besides, you have to admit that it really should be too early for complaints, don't you think?
So this is NOT a language barrier problem as you put. It is about Excitment, Enthusiasm, Emotions and any other profound feelings that are associated with everything else.
I think Ozpat understood my point. He gets my Thanks!!!!

You Guys Were So Ready For The Sisters To Come Home (To Europe that is).
After reading reviews from Athens and Thesaloniki, I have to tell you I am totally confused. No straight reviews, no sure set lists.... very sloppy and confusing. And Best of All..... people are Complaining already ....
When The Sisters launched the tour in the US (Las Vegas) There was even an audio and people wrote reviews (neat and straighforward) ones right and left. Exciting Times indeed!
I read Athens thread and this one and I am confused.
Most Reviews on the US tour were good reviews with clear & neat set lists, pictures and sometimes audio. Yes, San Fran was an exception.
Let's see what our friends in Europe can do.
The Ball is in your camp....
I wrote my review in the Athens topic. it was great. and you can read my opinion in that topic. I put a scan of the ticket, and I´ll put my photos as soon as i can, audio or video i don´t have.
what i can say is that everyone enjoyed the show.
and no one complain about it!!!! check it if you want!!!

Jesus people
I love this band but it was just a piggin' gig who the f**k-ing hell wants to know the exact setlist of every bloody gig the day after it occurs. I've done some lunatic things to see this band, but i would rather eat my own legs than read extensive reviews of every date on a tour.
If they'd played a blinder or a stinker I'd pull a bit more out of the bag, but they didn't.
As an aside, maybe there would be more bloody dancing at gigs these day if everyone wasn't taking photos on their f**king phones, trying to find the best place to record it from or writing down the bloody set-list.

Well, yes!
It was a perfect gig for anyone entering the Sisters in their Floodland Vision Thing period.
But there was no respect for the Reptiles and the Carpets.
Mr E has totally erased his past
and I dont accept that.
OK, we saw him, we enjoyed the show
but we left unsweated.
Strong doubts about dtsom's "everyone enjoyed the show"
In Thessaloniki the average 30-40 of age crowd
was really disappointed.

amph logic: it's not really up to you whether or not mr. Von erases his past...besides, there might be some thigns about his past that people like you could have misunderstood to begin with.

Well maybe if you had tried to gather some info before the gig (like, from this here forum), then you would've known what to expect.amph_logic wrote: But there was no respect for the Reptiles and the Carpets.

This change of mood didn't occur out of the blue. It's a process that's been going on for more than 15 years. didn't take anybody by surprise.

Oh my mistake then
attending a forum under a name of an erased song [heartland],
-should be "Flood II"
uses a forgotten font [caslon antique]
-should be Arial
and generally includes material of the "dark times".
Spare me the psychotherapy, will u?
Im aware of the 25 year process not the 15 year one.
The band's name is THE SISTERS OF MERCY and that includes everything.
Maybe Ben Gunn phoned Andrew and forbid him playing his old stuff
No Confusion, No Surprise.

Actually the play four songs from the Ben Gunn years: Temple, Alice, Burn and Anaconda. I think if you look at the setlists reaching from 1985-2006 that's only on very rare occasions they've played more then 4 "indie songs" at a concert. I would say that it's rather Wayne who have phoned him.. since they play almost no songs at all from FALAA/early WEA years...amph_logic wrote:Maybe Ben Gunn phoned Andrew and forbid him playing his old stuff

i'm sure Andrew cares a lot of what either Ben or Wayne tell him to do That said, i'm sure he's also convinced of the quality and fittingness to the current version of the industrial groove machien that is the Sisters of such songs as Adrenachrome and Walk Away.
Adrenachrome could only be played now as a joke, and his sense of humour is, thank God, more sophisticated these days.
All this said, the current version of Burn is the most menacing and foreboding ever, sends chills down my spine to hear him growl the vocals.

Well, they obviously have Kiss the carpet and Logic on the Doktor (if they haven't erased all songs between each tour). Those are guaranteed stormers with -any- version of the Sisters. I am not in the "play everything old" camp, but we have to be honest and say that they play far less songs than they could...which I cannot understand, and which I think is sad. I would personally prefer NEW new material, but I will soon be satisfied with just any song which isn't on the standard setlist.itnAklipse wrote: i'm sure he's also convinced of the quality and fittingness to the current version of the industrial groove machien that is the Sisters of such songs as Adrenachrome and Walk Away.

Yeah, yeah, but you don't know what i think about Clint Eastwood.
But if you wanna get into a serious debate about opinions, i'm ready. Somehow i doubt you are, though.
