emily's version of media alert

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

British Whale is performed, recorded and produced entirely by Justin Hawkins of The Darkness. It is music made with no compromises and will slap people on the back of the head with its pure unsullied silliness. Anyone that doesn't like it has a smelly bum.

yes dear, i knew that bit. it's a darkness in joke. the point of british whale is for justin to be silly, and to do the things that sensible brother dan won't have in his band...

it's very non-PC, bit of hun bashing going on apparently. notheard full lyrics yet.

scotty SAID teh darkness would be better foing the world cup song than embrace, and lo and behold.

I have to say that I have never seen the appeal in Justin and the Darkness. Bads songs, played badly, sung badly (or did i just miss the joke???).

There are very few bands that make me change tv or radio channels when they come on, but they are one!

I saw them at donington a few years back when they played the main stage at the Download festival and we genuinely thought they were a 'spoof' band, thrown onto the main stage for a laugh! I didnt think for a moment they could be a 'proper' band!

and I had thought we had seem the worst of them until the criminal cover of 'this town aint big enough for the both us' and now I dread what he may inflict on the poor listening public next!

still thats just my opinon  would be a dull old place if we all liked the same thing :D

Still not as bad as The Scorpions.
I saw them at Donnington in 1986 and they followed "Bad News".I went for a p*ss and a pint toward the end of "Bad news",when I came back "The Scorpions had come on and I seriously thought it was still "Bad news"!

 What makes you think that?I think he's pretty generous giving it 1/10.
And how can you have a one way ticket to hell and back anyway? Surely it should be a RETURN ticket to hell.

I think that was the (lame) joke :|
and The Scorpions had some fine tunes : Another Piece of Meat; The Zoo; Steam Rock Fever; The Wind of Change

the last one was a joke
