Emma/Uptown Ranking

Got any interesting thoughts on a set of lyrics? Any that don't involve the word "indeed"? Find yourself struggling to decipher all those obtuse references Von makes? Read "1959 And All That" and still no clearer? Nope, us neither. Postcards found lying in a skip around the back of the Chemists can be found here... Don't say you weren't warned.

The "See me in a Benz and ting" -> "See me on Benzedrine" change is a bit too good to be improvised.

I don't. Not a whit. I'm just suggesting it was meticulously devised, and not merely a spur-of-the-moment flash of wit. Most things Sisters seem to be.

You'd be surprised.

It has never been said which moments' spur the wit was prone to flashing.... Hearing the birds sing outside the living room window at 4am on a damp Sunday morning, after a marathon all-night Zombie-movie session, can tend to give one rather twisted ideas. ;)

The fact that Von sings a line from the song at Tilburg suggests it wasn't spur of the moment, and had been on his mind for at least a couple of days.

Does anyone have the setlist from the Lokeren gig? What does it say on there?

I think it was planned because they didn't play Emma for any of the other summer shows... but why Lokeren?

Dan what part of the Tilburg gig does he sing a bit of it?
