The only thing I could hear very well was the Bass Drum... everything else was well... a blurry thing? And o yeah, there was a bold guy with glasses on who appearantly was singing but forgot to put the mic on because NOBODY COULD HEAR HIM! (luckily the crowd in the front was singing along so every now and then I could figure out which song they were sort of playing).

And suddenly it struck me: there will never be a new CD, because for a new CD you need well, basicly, good songs! I didn't hear any good song because what I heard was just an idea for a song and then that was repeated for an hour

And there will be no live DVD because for a DVD you'll need a good show!

I'll never go to a SOM concert again (let's pray there never will be a next one), and that's a promise :!:

GOODBYE
You shouldn't have gone to this one if you think that Floodland was the beginning of the end. You could have known what to expect. You better stay home and watch the WAKE video. You might enjoy that one....

Maybe it is true that there are too much bass at the Sisters concerts, many people told me that at the Paris concert. I think they should work with a more competent sound engineer, the one they have at the moment is Jurgen Jansen I guess (the guy from the crappy german bad called Project Pitchfork), the Sisters deserve a top qualified sound engineer !!!!

Hey I'm being quoted! ;>

Now in the cold morning light when I look back upon last night, I still stand by my mail and yes I knew this was what was to be expected, but still I also think the show damn well rocked. Romeo Down sends shivers down my spine. Flood is still is this live version amazing. Susnanne still blows me away. Eldritch' voice did sound deeper but where I stood also clear. Ben and Chris are a good replacement and stood their ground. So as shows go it was indeed very good, but still from "my" Sisters I expected a bit more. Also Slept? Music wise ok but lyric wise? A bit like "You could be the one" lol Also I'd rather had "When you don't see me" cos I still think "Will I dream" Sounds like "Detonation Boulevard" Especially when like last night they played it back to back.

Still, I will always be a fan of the Sisters. There is a kinda magic there...shame they lost a bit last night, even though it rocked.

lets see, .. Von was clearly having fun. for a moment there I thought I saw him smile (it could have been a result of his cigarette.) the interaction towards the crowd was good as well. counting down for the next strophe and stuff like that. He didn’t even care to take his cigarette out of his mouth to sing
there was allot of smoke, at first I couldn't see where they where (I stould somewhere in the pit :P )

I had fun, great gig, lots of nice people.
I’m not going to try to name everyone, you know who you where.
But it was very nice to meet Libby and her other half. Hope to see both of you more often.

Emma, I hope you made it to the bus station. Good luck on your way home

A workman-like performance is about the best I can say for the gig.
Von's voice was about as fair as I've heard it over the last couple of tours, but Chris and Ben are doing a good job - Chris in particular has all
the moves - fun to watch.
In many ways, I'm sorry to say, the weakest link is AE.
I'm not sure he is up to live performance anymore, but maybe it's just late in the tour.
That said, nice venue, good crowd and chilled out atmosphere.
It's a pity AE was so silent.

Hopefully, there will be a more varied set list in Glasgow, and maybe a couple of extra songs - 19 is a bit skimpy, particularly without a support
act.

On the whole, depending on Glasgow's performance, I think I'll skip the
next tour unless there are some new songs.
For me, I need some more variation in the set list.
It's a purely personal opinion, but I've seen this once too often, and I never thought I'd say that.

PS

Sorry I missed everyone in De Zotte - we didn't make it until seven.

I have to agree with Erudite on most points, the bass was too heavy the vocals weak, first time seeing Chris and Ben pretty impressed although it would have been nice to hear their version of First and Last. I think somebody needs to point out to the SISTERS smoke man that each venue is different and hence different amounts of smoke required I nearly fell arse over tit down the stairs a couple of times as it was so bloody foggy! Good venue although I still prefer the Paradiso, good day out hopefully London is WAY better otherwise I won't waste a day going to the Glasgow gig.

Back home in Antwerp, 24 hours after we arrived in Amsterdam for what would turn out to become a memorable evening. We were at the Melkweg at about 14u30 and the tourbus was already standing outside. A few fans were hanging around. We met My Dominion, had a nice talk and went to De Zotte. Madame Butterfly was just leaving although at that time I was not sure it was her. Time for the gig now. We took place right in front of the stage just to see something in case there would be as much smoke as in Brussels last week. I think this time there wasn't too much. From the first note you could feel the energy of the band. Very tight and powerfull .Andrew was moving more than in AB and seeming to have a very good time on stage. At the beginning of the show I was a bit afraid that the crowd would sing along too loud and enthousiastic as during crash and burn, but they kindly let the singer do his job. Besides he is much better in it!
Chris and Ben were rocking their hearts out. Beautifull performance of Something fast and Susanne. After the show we had our tickets signed by Chris and Ben. Very friendly and approachable for the fans. Thanks to all heartlanders we met. You were very nice, especially Madame Butterfly we met after the show.
Our Sisters have great fans!!!

...

This is my review ~ Arrived in A'dam around 16h30 and headed directly to the Melkweg where we could get our membership cards. There was no-one inside as yet, and because we both needed the loo went in. Coming out of the loo I heard music *sound-check* and found my hubby inside the venue at the sound-check. I stood close to the bar and for a brief few minutes watched :von: with his baseball cap on, Ben and Chris doing their thing. The kind lady that had sold the membership cards to us, came and asked kindly if we could leave... 8)

Off to De Zotte we went and met up with christophe, his friend and Shadow_Smile. The pub started filling up with a crowd and after drinks we walked past Melkweg where we saw Eva and czuczu and said quick hellos. Then the 5 of us went to have a quick meal. Back at the Melkweg, the queuing had started but went quickly and saw jenzi-benzi
who had sorted his tickets.

Going into the venue, I headed for the door and bumped into Chris who was just leaving in a hurry. The kind sir gave me a few minutes where I asked him to please get our tickets from our gigs (Paris and Amsterdam), autographed by the three of them. He told me to meet him outside the gig after the show. Thank you Chris for giving me time even though you were in such a hurry! :notworthy:

The venue was small and there were notices up saying NO PHOTOS or RECORDING allowed. Security were checking for camera's and some of the audience that tried to make phone-photos got a flashlamp directed at them. (Idiot female standing right of me :x ) The front rows were dominated by some of the HL crowd and saw Andrew S again!

The gig started and in the beginning I noticed we couldn't hear :von: but it must have been some technical thingy, which got sorted because after that, I found his voice to come over powerfully and I had no problems hearing them! There was lots of smoke in the beginning but it wasn't constant and it was amazing with the colours. The stage was quite small so the three of them on stage really rocked. :notworthy: :notworthy:
They seemed to be having a good time, :von: threw an empty coke bottle into the crowd. The audience did sing along with some of the songs and in general it seemed everyone was having a good time. It always comes to an end too quickly.

After the gig, met libby and her partner, it was a pleasure! :D
Waiting at the door to finish my drink was asked if I was MB and it was the stunning _emma_! It was a pleasure meeting you and your better half and I am so happy that we had that connection! :notworthy:

Going to stand outside, saw Ben helping some fans and he looked tired.
Chris came out a bit later and handed me my tickets all autographed by all three! :D :notworthy: :D :notworthy:
Chris was in a really good mood and said he was enjoying A'dam. We had photos taken with him that will be posted later.... 8)
Again a massive thank you, hope you enjoyed sharing my joint, and sorry about the lipstick, but I couldn't let you get away without the dutch kiss!

Thank you to dear Shadow_Smile for the lift to the station and to dear _emma_ and your better half, you know you are always welcome in my home for the next time!

As this is the last gig for me, it was awesome. If I have missed anyone, I am so sorry, Super Bob, I kept on looking out for you.

Oh and although nothing was supposed to be recorded, some hardcore underground gents did manage some recordings...I'm sure the sharing will begin in awhile.

I'm still enjoying the after gig high. ;D

Well, sorry guys, I paid 35 Euro's for totally crap show (in my opinion, of course), so that entitles me to say anything I like about it!

Better performance than the Paris show, I thought.
Was over to the left so got to see & hear Ben properly for the first time, and was pretty impressed. Vocals sounded fine too, even :von: muttered "very good" after one of the numbers (no idea which...). Probably the best Dr Jeep and Lucretia I've seen them play since the songs have veen resuscitated.

It most certainly is not : we are devoted fans. We come here because we're happy the way things are. We do enjoy the gigs.
We also know :von: doesn't give a damn about what goes on around here. What do you think ? That you're going to have an impact ? That :von: will read your message and feel sorry that you didn't have a good time ? That's not the way things work.

Sure you are entitled to say what you thought about the show or the Sisters. It's a public forum. But you can expect this kind of reactions to remarks like yours in a Forum devoted to this band. You made your point. Some people might like your style, others think you are a throll and others totally ignore it.

Speaking for myself I think that you could have known what to expect at a Sisters show. Plenty of reviews and even recordings to download. If the Sisters are at their end (or near end) with the release of Floodland; why are you going to a gig about 20 years later? You knew it wouldn't sound like it did the early 80's. Bands move one, so do the Sissies. So WAKE seems to be the better option for you IMO.

No offence meant but this just doesn't seem to be the place where you can share your feelings towards the Sisters.

Hello HL !

One day after !
What can I say.....

Great GIG !

I met Libby and her partner in front off the Melkweg listen to the soundcheck.....it was a pleassure to meet you2.

I have been ill all week, but it was no reason to let the gig pass without seeing it.
Found my place above on the balcony.
From the stage at the left side and had a good view, the sound was rocking, the voice was clear and loud....loved en enjoyed it.

Tried to make some pictures but it was not possible because some one of the security put his light in to my camera.

Smoke....lots of smoke...YES that is what the Sisters are......
You know what you get.....and I love it.

Von was in a good mood, that was cleary to see from above....
Chris and Ben are doing it.....it looks if they are doing it for a long time.

What can I say..........
Said enough!

See you next time!
