there's a lot of debate in the silver bullet forum about the length of the current sisters shows which seem to be clocking in at around 80 minutes.
Am I dreaming or have all sisters shows been on the short side.....since way back. I didn't take a stopwatch to the shows in the 80s to confim but that the impression.
plus the boots I've got of shows like the tiffanys newcastle only run to 90 odd minutes.
I think the problem is too much filler and not enough killer in the set lists.....
BTW anyone know what the longest and shortest Sisters gigs were.....?
does length matter?

Some gigs around 1997-1998 were quite long. Some over 2 hours, like Stavenhagen and Rendsburg for example.wasteland wrote: BTW anyone know what the longest and shortest Sisters gigs were.....?
Who was it said "real bands release records" again???
A lot of them even clock in at under 60 mins. Presumably whatever lethal concoction Von had ingested was wearing off by then?

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
Wasn't it said that promotors/venues basically have two options - a long set and a short one? And that there is a difference in cost. The latter is probably the reason they could take it state-side and make it such an extensive tour around Europe. Also, I'd say Ben is a little less expensive then Mr. Whammy...

I´ve been checking my bootleg of U2 in Madrid and they played 22 songs..
and I payd 74 euros
the sisters play about 19 or 20 songs. it´s more o less 80 minutes whit the breaks can be 90.... for me is the normal time for a gig...
every time that i go to one sisters gig, when it finish I´m exhausting!!!!!

One of the Wembley dates on the Vision Thing tour was around 1 hour 40 mins, I'm guessing that is probably as long as any Sisters gig has been? Shortest are presumably the early York/Leeds supports, 3 songs only on some of those boots?wasteland wrote:there's a lot of debate in the silver bullet forum about the length of the current sisters shows which seem to be clocking in at around 80 minutes.

Give me one good reason
Think some of the 97/98 gigs were the longest. The AB one in '98 clocking close to two hours I believe and the Rensburg one close to that as well. That said the Prague one from '98 is probably one of the shortest ones - but that might have to do with the near riot.

I remember the York racecourse gig in '84 being a bit on the short side..or maybe I'd passed out or fallen asleep at the thought of the Bunnymen playing..ho ho
