Wake

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Hello to everyone
I'm new on this forum, I'm french , and unfortunately I haven't found any area to talk about sisters of mercy in my own language,,, this is why I'm here right now,,, but also because you seem to be interesting and kind!
I've been listening Sisters of mercy for 5 years,,, every day ....
now I bought a record player ,, and I'm trying to buy all the good sisters of mercy vinyls...
but whatever,,, it was just to say hello ( ou Bonjour si vous le voulez )

Hmmm ,, I've got the Wake Live Video on my computer ( which is completely perfect, crazy , awesome , and almost unbelievable ) ,,, and I like the performance of andrew on this show, his voice sounds really good,,, so I've tried to extract the sound from the video ... but I still have a bad vhs sound quality ,,, do you know if an audio bootleg from the royal albert hall concert 85 exists??
If yes,,, where can I find it ?

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure that I will spend some good time in this place ...

There's more than one audio recording from the "Wake" concert.
  • There's a version extracted from the audio of "Wake"
  • There's at least one, probably more, version recorded from the audience (which contains the tracks played at the concert but not on the video.)
You might be able to find "Holocaust" on peer-to-peer networks; this is the version ripped from "Wake"

As for an audience recording, you can look here. (But read the weeding FAQ first.)

And hello and welcome ;D

Welcome to HL my dear fellow countryman. 8)

There's a place where some Froggies gather to discuss Sisters-related matters : clicky.
That's of course a nice effort, but I have to say in all honesty that I find HL way more interesting. It's up to you.
I'd end this moment to be with you

@ 9while9 : I'd say "Les soeurs de la miséricorde", rather than "Les soeurs de la pitié".

@ Herr Blast : :notworthy:
You can also ask for a "Kro", just a Kro. Fairly easy when you're down and out. ;D

Markfiend : thanks ,,,
I hope that I the version extracted audio is good ,,, because I use virtual dub to extract the sound from the wake video ,,, and it's quite awful ,, but whatever , I love sisters so the sound is not a problem ,,, moreover, do you know if a vinyl bootleg of the RAH wake concert exists ???

Thanks to everyone for the welcome ...
and I'm not a froggy ,,, I don't eat little cute frogs...
I eat onyl pizza and pastas every day... since my birth...

hum and I'm also "fan" of Bauhaus and The Cure ( during their dark era )

Hmm ,,, I've to go out to smoke and drink a coffee , ( Oui c'est très français !) ,,,

I used to work for and have season tickets to go and see Everton F.C, and I can tell you that was like attending a Wake .. I can get you a soundtrack to that,if you like, but it would just be a dull mumur full of moans and groans ( bit like a Nephilim album)

"Wake for you my prescious".. As Hussey would say in his Gollum days.
