Don't think Mr. Ray was coming over to Brussels but he was doing tonight's gig, wasn't he

The first couple of listens didn't rock my world really.

I voted ‘meh, it’s alright.’ The idea behind the lyrics gave me a good chuckle, but I didn’t care too much for the tune.

4 people voted "turgid crap" ?
Looks like some folks around here have a weird sense of proportion. Shakira, Justin Timberlake... That is crap.

I really love this track, though I think it needs more development to be perfect.

After listening to the MP3 from Brussel I have to change my mind.. from Ok to "I like it very much - it does indeed make me glad!" !!!
A great song. I want more.

Chances are it could have something to do with the poll.Badlander wrote:4 people voted "turgid crap" ?

But miles better than Slept... now that's turgid crap!
Wow! You just forced me to delurk and create a profile just to express my shock at your opinions.Miles better than "Slept", however, which says nothing.
Slept is hands down my favourite of the new songs... and I'd go so far as to say that for me, it ranks up there with the best stuff the Sisters have ever done. I can only guess at half of what Eldritch mumbles in the song, I've no clue what the song's about, although I'd love to hear an interpretation... but I can just put it on repeat for hours and lose myself in it. I was crushed that they didn't play it in Vegas or San Diego on this tour.
Anyway, back to the subject of this thread... enh, it's okay. Like Crash and Burn, it seemed wholly unremarkable on first listen, but (again like C&B) it's grown on me with many, many listens over the past couple of days. The main riff sounds surprisingly atonal for the Sisters... in that regard, it reminds me quite a bit of Will I Dream, especially as it's played on the current tour.

Yep, been listening to it a few times this morning, courtesy of Mr BND's remastering - it rocks hard (that didn't take long, did it?). Power chords, oldest progressions in the book, industrial stompage, lyrics that may on first listen suggest a similarity to More (though I've yet to check the Lyrics thread, so this may be nonsense), bloody ace. Nice one Chris.

It's ok. It needs a lot of work as it sounds 'half-done' (just like 'Come Together' always did).
My favourites of the 'new' songs are 'Suzanne', 'Slept' and 'War on the Drugs'. Most of the other stuff sounds like a Sisters' tribute act and I hate 'Summer' with a passion.
Nice to see they're motivated enough to write some new stuff though.
