Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

in order.

Hello, I'm 8.5 I like the Sisters, have since I was thirteen (I'm 22 now, i think).

My birthday is September 11th.

I also like the Birthday Party a bit, and Suicide. I'd throw in a "knew you'd be pleased" if it weren't so overdone. Basically, I like the Sisters now for different reasons than I did when I was a younger person, mainly because I've learned a bit more (Milton, Donne, etc., although I've been keen on Eliot since about 15). They're still my favorite live band (saw them in 98 or 99, didn't see them recently as I couldn't bear to be disappointed and lack of funds).

I'm sure you're terribly interested, and this perhaps might not be the best method of introducing myself (I thought of the "occasionally adding a witty and thoughtful comment until you've grown to know me" style, but I don't have the attention span), but just thought I'd share with a crowd that seems fairly intelligent.

Oh s**t, I forgot to mention that I live in Georgia, United States, which might give some perspective as to my desperation to meet people that see things outside of Fox News and what they hear on Sundays (my Sundays being more filled with the sort of ambient noises on hears after a couple days without sleep).

O.k., it's good to meet you all.
If this is heaven I'm bailin' out.

positively heart-warming.

And the whole "disappointment" thing has less to do with the band (I'm sure they're even better now) and more to do with the fact that I was much younger when I saw them the first time and thoroughly unprepared for "that type" of music--the depth of it, and the way it was communicated onstage, coupled with the (for the most part) completely clueless crowd...it was pretty amazing. I don't know if I could go to see them as just a "great band" once I've been through something like that, haha.
If this is heaven I'm bailin' out.

Welcome indeed. If you want my tuppence worth, you made the right choice to stay at home. Not a patch on the 98 Version of The Machine that blew the roof off the Forum. Still, they appear to be getting better again, so don't miss out next time. (next time? hmmm :? )

You'll like it here. Everyone's reet nice. Even the nobs.
