Sisters' Covers....

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Wicked Game - Chris Issac

I KNOW this was done to death by HIM, But it the only decent song HIM do, the rest of their stuff IMHO is s**t ;-)

TSOM doing an updated Industrial Groove version of Hot Chocolates "Emma" would be great.

I have the habit of occasionally humming the Doktor's Drum patterns (don't ask me how I manage to hum them, I just do!) - And some of my faves are Kiss the Carpet, Fix, Neverland, Dominion etc....anyway, to cut a long story short, I was humming away one day, and suddenly, I realised my current ditty was NOT a Sisters song!!??

Oh, the shock of it all.

Anyway, turns out it was "Vienna" by Ultravox! Reckon that'd be a good un...

Sinead O'Connor - Troy (great opener)
Björk - Human behaviour
Nana Mouskouri - Only love
Barry White - Standing in the shadows of love (with an equal amount of heavenly background voices)
I like these calm little moments before the storm. It reminds me of Beethoven. Can you hear it? It's like when you put your head to the grass and you can hear the growin' and you can hear the insects.

Ahh…the wonderful world of half man half biscuit, failing dukla prague, how about “13 eurogoths floating in the dead sea

It’s a tough choice between lenny’s “closing time and anything from hmhb’s back catalogue. So I’ll opt for both of these plus

Ministry’s “Jesus Built My Hot Rod and Sultan of Ping FC’s “Where’s My Jumper

Oh my f*cking god I really wish you hadn't reminded me of that song.

*goes to try to erase memory*

How about 'Rain From Heaven'. It would, in effect, be a cover and yet he wouldn't have to pay for performing it.

Well, they do play Giving Ground so the Sisters definitely like The Sisterhood ;)

I still think Ballroom Blitz would perfectly match Top Night Out in a medley.

so something like this really isn't helpful

My, brother, knows, Karl Marx,
He met him eating mushrooms in the peoples park,
He said 'What do you think about my manifesto?'
'I like a manifesto, put it to the test-o.'

Took it straight down to meet the anarchist's party.
I met a groovy guy, he was arty farty,
He said 'I know a little latin man a cus man a kai'
I said 'I don't know what it means' he said 'neither do I'

Eat natural foods, bathe twice daily,
Fill your nostrils up with gravy.
Don't drink tea and don't drink coffee.
Cover your chin in yorkshire toffee.

Dancing in the disco, bumper to bumber,
Wait a minute, where's me jumper

It's alright to say things can only get better,
You haven't lost your brand new sweater.
I know I had it on when I had my tea,
And I'm sure I had it on in the lavatory.

It's alright to say things can only get better,
You haven't lost your brand new sweater.
Pure new wool, and perfect stitches,
Not the type of jumper that makes you itches

Well, Adrenaline has a slightly TOL feel to it, but I wouldn't want the Sisters to trash such a good song.

That said, I could imagine Ghost Dance covering Leave Me For Dead as well, because it just seems more of a Ghostie song. I wonder if scotty would agree. :innocent:

I think Ghost Dance could do a mean "Come Hell of Highwater" & "Deeper" .

I'd love to hear the Sisters cover Girls Alouds "Sound of the Underground".

Have you seen your mother baby, standing in the shadows? (Stones)
Are you ready to be heartbroken? (Lloyd Cole)
Since You've been gone (Rainbow) it suits the new sound ;D
Bad Penny (Big Black) it suits the old sound ;D
Psychadelic warlords, dissapear in smoke (Hawkwind) Oh come on, it needs doing
