Bratislava - TSOM + Depeche Mode
I've just discovered that Muse are supporting the puppet show in Stockholm. Ok, so the Sisters may not be a stadium headline band anymore, but surely Muse are.

And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

Haven't been there since 1991, stayed at the YMCA on account of there not being a great number of youth-hostel type places available. If you're going to Vienna it's worth taking the hydrofoil rather than the train - if you go early in the morning there's this great mist that lies on the river, so it's like you're floating through clouds.Christian wrote:Any hotel recommendations for Bratislava?
Anybody else going from Bratislava to Vienna the next day?

When I ordered my ticket there was only one type of tickets. Did you receive yours already?jost 7 wrote: bad thing: only in the second standing area behind the inner circle or whatever it might be.

On my ticket says "Statie" - what does that mean? Apart from that I can not find anything regarding a certain place in the stadium.
I booked this hotel btw:
Hotel Turist
Ondavská 5
Bratislava

tickets were booked by a friend - he told me of at least 3 categories - 2 on the playingground, and 1 for tribunes - would be a shame if the sisters following can't come infront of the stage, lets see.
its a post-communist country. guards at the venue should accept a tip......

On the web site there is only one category
"Categories and prices
Státie
Státie plocha 1390 Sk 1.390,00 SK"
Seems like "státie plocha" is the playing field. At least I conclude that from the picture on the bottom of this page:
http://www.gregi.net/cms/show_article.php?idd=3900
Still have no idea whether there are two areas on the field and for which of those my ticket is...

I have sent a mail to eventim.sk and asked for the ticket categories. They replied:
>> You are right, there are 3 categories of tickets, but we only sell one category- STANDING. This is also the ticket you have- for standing. We dont have tickets for area just in front of the stage.<<
Anybody got an idea where to get those tickets...?

I'll be there and hope tol find some familiar faces in the large crowd! I prefer smaller venues, but seeing DM for the first time should be a bonus.jost 7 wrote:so lets see what the puppet show part two might bring!
hope to meet some of you there, although the venue is large,

I was there last year, on 27th July 2005 , not a bad stadium (if you like Concrete ).
There's a great bar just over the road "Restauracia Stadion"
Just ignore the flags
But watch out for all the neo-nazi's

great sound (where i stood - due to the masses quite far a way), the band with the sun in their faces, thanking for patience, kicking into balloons, smoking as hell, and
kicking off with
vision thing
c&b
ribbons
dr. jeep
when you don't see me
still
giving ground
dominion
summer
alice
anaconda
this corrosion
lucretia
top nite out
temple
should be quite complete, not in proper order, played without any breaks, close to an hour
about 30 sisters fans were present, surrounded by 20.000+ dm-devotees.
ae: "thx for your patience" (the audience cheering for dm during most of the gig), "...perverts we like...." (before tol). the band was seen during the first 30 mins sitting in the stadium beside the stage, smoking, chatting and smiling about the dm-performance.
all in all a great night, with great sound due to the system, sunny wheather, really enjoyed dm, although the singer might use backing tapes as support during the whole set.....
hello to everyone i met. was nice to having had some words - as ever!

Great sound, but the most unfriendly crowd, Ben said after the gig and he saw about 7 people having fan during the Sisters set... Von seemed in quite a good mood, the set was obviously shorter than normally. Depeche Mode absolutely rocked!!! However, Bratislava is the most corrupt and strange place you can imagine, with everybody trying to rip you off (especially taxi drivers), if it wasn't for one person I'm not sure if I'd enjoy my stay there.
as I already said on Dominon:
Cool gig, best live sound I have heard this year but the crowd sucked. The Sisters did a good job anyway. "Vision Thing" as opener was a real burner. They played the usual set list just leaving out the "more silent" songs like "Something Fast", "Neverland", "Romeo Down" and "Suzanne". Too bad I was standing to far away from the stage and most people around me were just waiting for Depeche Mode. I enjoyed both the Sisters gig and the Depeche Mode set anyway.
Addition to the one-liners section: the crowd pushed a huge black balloon onto the stage and Chris kicked it back into the audience. Andrew then introduced "Temple of love" as follows: >>This is called "Where is my eightball?"<<.
Yowsa, to the people I travelled with. It has been a pleasure and I enjoyed every bloody minute with you. You know who you are. Special thanks to Ania and Andrius for translation and Christian P. for organisation matters
