Should there Be Censorship on Heartland?

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

You can still see it - it is in the Trash Bin section (accessible from the main page).
Although, to be fair, I don't know how long it stays there.

Whoever posted the Nazi reference first loses

No one was censored. The content of nobody's posts changed. I didn't force anything upon anyone, I merely made the assertion that if the guy was a functioning male, I'd prefer his company. No explicit reference to sexual activity anywhere. I didn't say that it was anything more than an indication of gender and didn't even imply the details of any act, real or imagined. Hell, even the homosexual nature of the comment was deduced, never stated.

In defending your "right" to express your disgust, you must also uphold my right to disagree with that disgust, something which you seem to have overlooked.

Anyhow, objection to partaking in or observing activities is perfectly justified. No consistent moral system can support the right of two consenting, mentally sound individuals to do whatever they want with each other (seriously, I challenge anyone to define one).

Had I stated something horribly explicit, then 9's response would be acceptable. As it is, I merely alluded to the guy having the right plumbing, ffs. Any man who can say that they're offended by the mention of a dick is, imho, morally obliged to cut his own off, since tolerating it would be inconsistent with his world view.

And now I'm shutting up, because I know I'm right.

Love is the law, ya bastard [/url]

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll file a bugreport with the phpBB team in due course. For those interested, that happened because BBCode doesn't like apostrophes in URLs - the temporary work around is to use the "%27" escape sequence instead ;)

I'm one of the first members on this forum, and the reason why I'm still here is because it is slightly moderated in a way that everyone can have his/her say.

You learn rather quick where the boundaries lie. If you can't live with that, go somewhere else.

I, too, have crossed boundaries in the past, especially with my heartfelt aversion of R&B music ;) But I saw I was treading on too many toes and just swallowed my bile.

After all, I'm a grown-up human being, and one of the things you learn with adulthood is that you don't always are right about stuff. And it is rather adult to ADMIT this.

I frequent a plethora of other forums, and this one is just perfectly moderated. Most of the time the censorship is applied correctly.

And it is best to lock a thread BEFORE it starts to become a flamewar, otherwise this becomes the Dominion list all over again. One of the reasons why this forum started in the first place, I thought, was to avoid such things.

So, Quiffy, Mods, you have my full support. You did it in the past, you can still do it now.

If some n00bs come in here and act as if they pwn the place, kick them and send them to boarding school. The same goes for old members, by the way.

This is Quiffy's place. He pays for it, some of us support him. When you thrash the Ming vase in his living room, he kicks you out. If you start whining to the rest about this being unfair, you got a second kicking coming up.

Thank you.

Thanks.

I was also wondering earlier if I should mention why the Americans have to execute their first Amendement with illegal CIA flights to Europe, but I'm not that kind of person ;)

You can offend anyone on this board, but why should you?
