Should there Be Censorship on Heartland?

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Motz' 'Only if it has a cock' comment was abit near the knuckle,
the puking emoticon was (in my opinion) a light hearted way of saying
'Too Much Information', it should've been left at that, but no, over-reaction and accusations of homophobia start flying.
I could'nt give a damn if someone is straight or gay, that's your choice, but don't go ramming it down our throats.
Just my opinion but, Some people on this forum are waaaaaay to sensitive.
Yep, I looked at it too, and I'm inclined to agree. People all around behaving poorly, and over-reaction on all sides--as well, I might add, a degree of poor taste and bad manners on all sides. Of course, the whole problem is that sarcasm and humour don't really translate well to the internet, do they? Thus, it is inevitable that wires will be crossed, things will be misinterpreted, feelings will be hurt and s**t that should have been ignored will continue to be debated (not unlike this thread...). And some people are too sensitive here--and some perhaps are not sensitive enough.

And as for the whole censorship thing, well--QB pays for the forum, does all the upkeep, etc. It is very much his house. If he wants to censor it, he can--it's his right, and since it's a private association anyone who doesn't like it can f**k right off. No one has a 'right' to post here, or anywhere; and if he removes something he finds objectionable, tough. Again, it's his house, and he can do whatever the hell he wants to within it.

Hell, if he wants to ban everyone except markfiend and turn it into a gardening-and-model-boatmaking discussion board, that's his business, and frankly, none of us have a right to complain. A lot of you have been acting like overly-sensitive 13 year olds. Grow up.

Eugh. Just eugh. The true four letter response is staying behind the keyboard this time, but suffice to say, such arrogant judgementalism does not impress, especially when dragging the matter up from the dead. I will say nothing more to you on the matter.

Lucien: I wondered if that might be going a little too far :urff:

Besides, it's all but deprecated now anyway ;D

Fair enough, I suppose. But why respond at all if what I've said "does not impress" (nor was it meant to)? More to the point, I aimed nothing at you, so why have my words roused your ire so? In fact, forget about it. Stop being so offended, accept my apologies for offending you and let's let it go; I don't want to see this all devolve into a Dominion-esque contest of feces-flinging apes (not a reference aimed at any specific HL poster, so don't anyone get their dander up about it).

Oh God, that. Does anyone know what the deal with her is? Why does she hate HL (and, well....everyone else, for that matter) so much?

does this place need censorship? damn right it does! if at least ninety-nine percent of the drivel that you pointless, witless, thoughtless wastes of cyberspace was censored before it reached my ivory tower i might manage more than a glance at what used to be one of the more civilised corners of t'internet.

now, those of you old enough to know better: start acting your age. the rest of you: pretend that your old enough to fit in the previous category or p*ss off to the cyber-kindergarten until your iq exceeds your shoe size.

Actually I'm going to start a thread on Acts that will never appear on Jonathan Ross.It really is no coincidence that Shabba Ranks was never on the Last Wesort or Fwiday night with Jonathon Woss.

And why in the name of Beelzebub can't people just leave it alone.Just as this thread started to get friendly and amusing, some lame brain starts it all up again.

What took him so long? I started to fear impending fatherhood (Copyright 2006 Blast Prod.) had softened the grumpy old man.

oh dear richey, do you realise that "cyber-kindergarten" is entirely and literally in your hands as voted many moons ago within the many pages of all this drivel that you speak of.

imho though i would rather have those really little people to look after than those who act under that iq size you speak of...

but hey you are the boss and i indeed agree with you.
