Temporary Leave of Absence

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Admittedly I don't post much in the general section of this forum, sad fan boy that I am. However,
as of Monday, posts will be even more infrequent for a time. I'm flying out to Bahrain to work until
the end of the month - unless I get finished early, which I'll be seriously aiming towards - temperatures
of 40 - 45 deg c are not my idea of fun!
Anyway, on my return I've promised the Mrs that the PC will remain firmly switched off for the fortnight
I'm at home on holiday. Mainly because I've spent so much of my free time over the last 18 months
concentrating on my writing, and if I were to be honest, being an absentee husband!
However, time, as recent events for members of this forum have pointed out, is a finite resource.
Once it's spent you don't get it back, so you should invest it wisely.

But, to end on a positive note, the prospect of signing a publishing deal is looking very likely, and all
going according to plan I should be publishing a couple of novels towards the end of the year with a third
one to follow.
The catch being that this is a brand new publishing house and it could all fall flat very quickly.
So I'm trying not to be too enthusiastic for fear of it all turning to shit before it even gets off the
ground.

Have fun, people!

PS

I bet I still won't escape the bloody world cup!

Nice to hear some good news in here after a very black week Don. Take your time and come back when you're ready.
