Down while being updated? (ever the optimist)
Well, not actually down per se, just slow as running through treacle.

all looks like it did this time yesterday
which is a shame, because site problems usually do point to von having a bit of a tinker

Where did you find that?
I was trying to access the Gigography earlier and it wasn't loading at all. So I thought he was updating that with the Silver Bullet dates... it seems he did not.

Rather than kick off an uninspiring thread, has anyone seen any East West 'pre-release propaganda' for SSV?

but they're the same site
they appear to be hosted on the same box, so unless the dns servers and routing are different for each address, there should be difference in speed
however....
i ping'ed each one twice:
www.the-sisters-of-mercy.com
without hyphens: 730ms and 689ms
definitely slower
anyone who understands what it all means want to do a tracert?

They're the same site on the same server. Identical routes and a few milliseconds (at least from here) aren't unusual.Quiff Boy wrote:anyone who understands what it all means want to do a tracert?
DNS lookups could be marginally slower for the hyphens??? Not in your local cache or something like that, perhaps.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
it was mentioned in one of Tower records magazines too.the-happening wrote:Yes have an advert from UK magazine advertising the release and a press release, German I think, though i'd need to check.timsinister wrote:Rather than kick off an uninspiring thread, has anyone seen any East West 'pre-release propaganda' for SSV?

I heard that there was a review/advert in The Guardian at one point too...
