hi all
got some reactions however don't know how o play riffs on my 6 string (love of my life ). Any other ideasof playing sisters songs, i do realise they're not all meant to being played acoustic but hell why not. I'm looking after stuff like jolene is written down. That's the kind of writing i understand
thanks for any additional ideas. Maybe I should start taking up electric

You mean like this?
There's loads over on http://www.azchords.com/s/sistersofmercy-3596.html but beware of pop-ups.

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I'm with ya. Try this for starters:
Although if I can play the above (Lights), surely anyone can?
Code: Select all
Chorus: Cm Eb Cm Eb
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene,
Eb Cm
I'm begging of you please don't take my man.
Cm Eb Cm Eb
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene,
Eb Cm
Please don't take him just because you can.
The verse is just: Cm,Eb,Bb,Cm,Bb,Bb,Am,Am,Am,Am for a bar each.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
Here's another:
Code: Select all
Intro: 4/4, Em/ G/ D D
Em G D
Living as Angel in the place that I was born
Em G D
Living on air...... living in heaven
Em G D
Giving the lie down, the line
Em G D
To the there's my heaven

F5, Fade out
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
And finally!!!
All of these are from the link I posted above. It's got a mixture of both styles. If you wanna learn riffs, I couldn't recommend Lights more. Simple, 1 string, not much finger movement. Valentine is also good and easy.
Code: Select all
(A) (C) (G) (B)
counting the days in the haze around you
(A) (C) (G) (B)
Susanne on the wall
Chorus:
D C
no pain, summer rain
Bb G A
I'm lost for stupid again
D C
we are the same
Bb G Em
give it a name Susanne
counting the days in the haze around you
Susanne let the ether fall
out of phase, I am all around you
Susanne on the wall
no pain, summer rain
I'm lost for stupid again
we are the same
give it a name Susanne
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
