java applet .........help

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

help me........
i activate a java applet (showing panoramic pictures) on the desktop pc and it loads and gives me the option to choose a view.
when using the same web page on the laptop , the java applet starts , but no choice drop down menue appears.although you can just make out where it was meant to be.even though it says in the text box to choose a view......
i take it to mean i need to change a seeting somewhere on the laptop.

thanks in advance

could be different versions of the java runtime ("jre")

one of your PCs could be using sun's jre, and one could be using the default MS one (which is cack)

have a look here, and update both to the latest sun jre :)

http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

you probably want the second one - "Windows (Offline Installation)" - that will give you a setup exe you can run then on both PCs without having to download it twice

applets. brrr :urff:
