probably the wrongest thing(s) ever

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I like Lambchop, they actually add something to this song (IMO) as I prepare for the fall out... :innocent:

Prepare to be disagreed with on a grand scale ;D

Edit: Prepare to also be disagreed with on the first one too. Whether you like the style or not, they bring something new to the song (it's not a dodgy direct rip off). And listen carefully to the last chorus. Sends a shiver down my spine to hear that. It's a labour of love by a real fan :notworthy:

I left a gap, as I was utterly speechless!
Lambchop certainly offers a little air of......erm......wait, it's coming.........
CACK, I think the word is that was eluding me.

Decent versions, the both of them, and much better than you'd expect.

first song: unprofessional, therefore unlistenable crap. you get tons of these kind of demos when working as an A&R.

second: not my cuppa, but at least an own approach.

Could you elaborate on the unprofessional, cd? I'd like to know what to avoid from it for future reference ;)

Apart from the fact that it's a cover and thus should never reach the desk of an A+R anyway :innocent:

First of, how many different vocals are there? I recognised after the first listening: 1x dreadful distorted rap, 1 x female opera-esque vocals, 1 x female background choir, 1 x black metal growling and 1 x quite okay male voice.
then the usage of dreadful cheesy synth sounds and the power metal-like guitar wank. :urff:

All in all, this band uses far too many styles in this one song. There's a change of tempi and tone almost every 30 sec.
A lot of demo-bands try to show off like this when sending in a tape.

After Jess' reasoned I reply, guess I better listen to the first one, although I prophesy disaster and I'll have to put David Bowie's Stage on hold. :|

I knew there must be at least one dedicated 'metalhead' in that band.

HAHA these pics!

But jesus, these cowboys are so..... WRONG.

I think they need to be thrown into the deepest cellar of a goth metal inn.

Looks like these folks run around role playing games in forests calling themselves Knights or Lords or whatsoever.

I think they need to be punished.

At least sane girls don't like ass clowns who play fairy tale methal versions of Sisters songs. That's so crap!!

What did AE once said about their influence on goths etc.?

The first one is very very lame, the second one is just pure gold :notworthy:

You should hear the recent'ish bootlegs of Lambchop, on the album they took the song to the absolute basics, now they've built it up again even more grotesque than the original :notworthy: Wagner truly made it into his own song, which is why I love it :notworthy:

I haven't heard the first one yet, but I know Lambchop's TC and I know it's very very very good.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
