all 3 albums reissued with bonus tracks.

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

VT have plenty of bass when played through a system that can handle tones low enought. Imho.

On more regular systems it do sound somewhat thin at times.

Believe me, with my Denon CD player and amp and my JM Lab speakers, I've got a good enough system. This record needs some more muscle, that's all. :von:

Sounds fine with an NYTech amp and Mordaunt-Short Pageant 2s...

And that's coming out of a laptop CD player through a MOTU ultralite :|

My Yamaha DSP-A5 and a pair of Goodmans Mezzo SL speakers purchased back in 1975 make everything I play (except for Voivod's unmastered RRROOOAAARRR!) kick ass.

Some dodgy Sisters boots sound crap too, believe it or not. ;D

I manage to get the house shaking with my Onkyo TX-904 and Solid speakers (early nineties, I think) ;D Never had any problems with VT, except it was the soundtrack to a major car crash once

Yes, but I will buy these 3 albums again. 1) For a decent version of On The Wire 2)SKOS early 3)Neverland 4) To put my money where my mouth is 5) In the hope that decent sales of these albums encourage record company interest in new material 6) In the hope that decent sales of these albums encourge TSOM to want to release something new 7)In the hope Wake gets a DVD release.8) In the hope the DVD that "may or may not get released one day" gets released.
At least I'll have something to show for £24 that doesn't give you short term memory loss

Hope was personified in Greek mythology as Elpis. When Pandora opened Pandora's Box, she let out all the evils except one: Hope. Apparently the Greeks considered Hope to be as dangerous as all the world's evils. But without hope to accompany all their troubles, humanity was filled with despair. It was a great relief when Pandora revisited her box and let out hope as well. It may be worthy to note that in the story, Hope is represented as weakly leaving the box but is in effect far more potent than any of the major evils.

And with out Hope, you have nothing. Which is exactlly what TSOM have given their fans for nigh on thirteen years. And now, with total disregard for people's bank accounts and blind devotion, three albums all featuring 'expanded' versions.

And for what? The prelude to a era of ' new' material. Or to squeeze some life out of an already well flogged horse?

To many, it will indeed seem like a breath of fresh air , to those who want to build their already well duplicated collection. To most though, it is the final insult and slap in the face for those who have stood by this 'artist' for over twenty years.

I for one will be keeping my hard-earned well away from Amazon.com for the forseeable future.

Mr Eldtritch, you have sold your soul, integrity, pride and the faith of many for £8.99. For shame.

A lovely little soliliquy, but Eldritch has no control over the recordings, period. Warner owns them, lock, stock and barrel, a fact which seems to have been conveniently missed by many in this thread.

Quit bitching. You sound like a teenage girl with cramps. If you don't like it, don't spend money on the records. You can spend it on capes, black eyeliner and pointy shoes or something.

May or may not prove this is official - now listed on CD Universe and (of all places) Tesco

CDU:

FALAA
http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.a ... 1171&BAB=E

"The unknown story of this album is that ever since it has been availble on CD, and inferior 'copy' master was utilised. Remastered from the multitracks for the first time, it now sounds better than ever before and is augmented by six tracks, all non-album 'B' sides plus "Some Kind Of Stranger (Early)" a previously unissued track from the album sessions."

FL
http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.a ... 1172&BAB=E

"A definite milestone, newly remastered and housed in a foldout digipack sleeve with new linernotes."

VT
http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.a ... 1173&BAB=E

"Again, newly remastered and bolstered with extended mixes and a couple of additional live tracks, housed in a foldout digipack sleeve with new linernotes."

I went to HMV-Oxford St. y'day and they said they have no record of these cds on their database... it's a shame because the description from CDU sounds great, but if the largest music store in the World doesn't have these on it's system then... :( ... i'll believe it when i see it

I guess no thorncult releases exist then. Oh well.

Information about different things travels to different people at different speeds. It's not even a month before release, having them in the system now would just be a whole lot of f**king uselessness.
