I've found two "examples" of that line. Where do you want me to upload it to?

Got it, thanks so much- sounds great. Actually better quality than what I had too ;-)

Now just waiting on the midi file, probably finish up my part by next week if I get it this week. We have a total song count so far?

I'm available for guitar/vocals/programming.
You can hear me doing all three here:

Also, doea anyone have midi files for any of the new songs??

I've just bought a bunch of new samples I want to try to use :-|

These are the ones I'll be using for:

Crash & Burn

We slip on the wire
We shimmer to shine
Now slide on the chrome and plastic.
The hum of the power lies
In the sum of our love
We trip the light fantastic.

Singing:
Do I drive or am I driven?
Can I brake, what I've been given?
Take a walk, turn, talk or
Crash and burn.

Everybody got a wife, I got mine
She's kneeling on the backseat
Feeling fine
She's married to a soldier in
The army of the Rhine
Well, he don't know so,
He don't mind.

She says:
Do I drive or am I driven?
Can I prey on, what I've been given?
Take a walk, turn, talk or
Crash and burn.

The hum of the power lies
The sum of our love.

We trip on the wire
We shimmer to shine
We slide on the chrome and plastic.

We sing:
Do I drive or am I driven?
Can I brake, what I've been given?
Take a walk, turn, talk or
Crash and burn.
I don't necessarily agree with everything I think.

I found a midi file for Summer and I've just quickly attached a few instruments, no mixing or anything just rough ideas...any thoughts etc on this:

http://www.mcallister-productions.com/music/Summer.mp3

I think the guitars sound too fake at this point but it's a start......
Don't feel bad to give negative feedback, this only took me five minutes and I am looking for opinions to help improve it :-)

no offence meant. It's just that you're so close to the mic that every "side-noise" of the mouth is overly audible. (like breathing, lip movements etc)
Nevermind, it's a cool effect. Some people (f.ex. Peter Steele) based their whole career on that "proximity effect". (forgive me for using such amateurish lingo.... I just don't know the specific audio vocabulary)

Got the latest version of Summer up for scrutinizing:

It'd just be called ambient noise, cd. The proximity effect refers to the increase in volume of bass frequencies as you get closer to certain types of mic (I forget which).

thanks for the info. :notworthy:

@mcalldp. on a second listen I suddenly knew what the song and your way of singing reminds me of..... Roger Waters.... :D

Honestly I thought the singing part might be the weakest point of your "project". I have no doubt that there are a lot of talented musicians amongst you that can handle decent cover versions, but to come up with a good singer, whose voice can stand on his own (please not so many faux Eldritches) and interprets the song in a certain way is rather difficult.

But here you got one already. Definitely. :P

Those would be cardioid mics, like the SM-58.

why does the version I listened to have no vocals?

Nice song, and that "ambient noise" ain't really a problem in my book. Just use one of yer mom's stockings next time, and sing through THAT.

I was thinking "Jealous Guy" when I heard the song tho ;)

Very good mixing too! Impressed...
