War Emma Pigs

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Does anyone else notice the similarity between the opening riff of Black Sabbath’s ‘War Pigs’ and The Sisters of Mercy’s cover of ‘Emma’? Alright, it’s not similar, it’s exactly the same! I’m surprised no one has pointed it out on the forum before.

yeah, i've noticed that, but it's not Sisters' song (right?), so i didn't think it's worthy posting about that
well, all similarity is just in two chords going one just after another
like E5 D5 E5 D5 etc. in Black Sabbath case
and that's all :D

I always thought that the intro to 'Always There' by the Rose of Avalanche, was WAY, WAY too similar to the intro to Alice.
Give me one good reason

They sound similar, but EVERY song sounds similar to another one.

There are only twelve notes and a gazillion songs, after all ;)
