SISTERS have just been played on BBC1

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Nice. :urff:

I never listen to Radio 1 but More was played on Talksport a few months back as part of a competition. 5 songs played, name them & get a prize type thing. The presenter (can't remember which one) said More was his favourite of the lot. How sweet.

Saw the new Robin Hood on BBC1 last night. Budget, hackneyed action scenes, no satanism  and no Sisters. Poor show.

I watched it too. I thought the soundtrack might extend beyond the trailer. but no such luck. Turned out to be more of a show for hoodies.

Is it a good thing when they yell out "he's rubbish" in the game?

It's easy once you perfect the knack of letting off about 5 arrows at once.

Watched the first episode of Robin Hood on BBC Three last night, and rather enjoyed it. Yes it's glossy, rushed, all the cast members are far too young ... but show me a recent TV programme that doesn't apply to.

Had a trailer for the second episode on straight after, and I can report that they've kept the Alice motif... :notworthy:

if its set in nottingham, why do three quarters of the actors have mancunian accents?

watched it and thought it was poorly put-together tosh, to be honest.

Maid Marian and her Merry Men was much better ;)

i doubt if i can be arsed to watch it again

by far the best thing about it are the adverts :von:

It was a bit of a let-down. :| Although I was quite drunk when I watched it, and don't really remember that much of it...

The accents thing: I noticed "Alan-a-Dale" saying he was from Rochdale :?:

I think all the stuff about the Crusades was a bit heavy-handed. Give me the cod-paganism of the Michael Praed version any day over the hand-wringing war-veteran approach.

They should SO have used Alice as the theme tune.

I guess they are using a rock/goth type track to suggest this Robin Hood is a darker/more gothic version - which in fact, it isn't based on seeing the first 2 episodes. The best series was undoubtedly the Robin of Sherwood series, the Clannad music perfectly suited the mystical medieval time it was set in and gave it such atmosphere and was far darker than this beeb version. It had great casting too unlike this version. I like how they invented Nazim the arabic assassin character and then Kevin Costner just stole the idea for his film as though it was in the stories all along!
