HMV are an evil conglomerate which have taken over our high streets over the past 15 years and squeezed out all of the little indie stores! And generally they are a bloody rip off - the Cure deluxe reissues are £16 for f**ks sake! I often get stuff from CDwow - and I suspect (IF these Sisters reissues really do exist ) that CDwow will be selling em cheaper.

My local indie store is thriving (the rock box ) and it thrives because it knows its music, can specialise and knows what the metal, indie, goth etc fans want and it succesfully competes with the local Virgin shop.

The way i see it, HMV screwed the indie shops over back in the 80s and gained a monopoly so they could charge inflated prices. So now I welcome another company muscling in with far lower prices which will screw over HMV in its turn!

The trouble is they are also muscling in with far lower prices than the indie shops, hence they are now really feeling the brunt. I have seen three excellent record shops shut down in Bristol in the past year, it's a sad state of affairs and is down to the Internet giants if anyone, not HMV.

Someone might have mentioned this on previous pages, but this seems to be the thing to do with the bands from this era in this genre (more or less). Just go to your CD shop and check out the Cure or Depeche Mode sections. All these re-relases, expanded versions, lots of live cd's offer more than you can digest, and often have very differing sound quality. What's kind of sad is that most of us, myself probably included, will be paying $15 for one song we haven't heard before. And it's not even going to be one song, but rather, new version of Neverland for instance. I'd love to hear it of course, but those pounds/dollars add up...
