Sisters New record deal

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

According to Richard from Killing Miranda's LJ, The Sisters have signed a 1 album deal with the same label that Killing Miranda are planning to sign to!

If that's true, I will be very very happy. I have bulk ordered a batch of endorphins, phlagocytes and adrenaline just in case. I expect an album by Christmas.

Delivered down my chimney on a sleigh, by Santa and all his elves.

Sorry, this is the Pavlovian effect Sisters rumours trigger in me - simultaneous excitement and suspicion. Just like being propositioned by a far-too attractive person, when you're not even wearing your lucky pants

Sorry...
Chris

i'm with paddy on this one. pass the smurph ;)

the same label as killing my panda? do me a f*ckin favour. hahahah! what label are they on? its not nightbreed is it? for f*cks sake. :D :D :D

nah. it's a comforting thought to think that some product might come out soon, but i really cant see it somehow. i think he'd rather remortgage his house(s) and subsidise the album himself than go through some two-bit darkling label... and rightly so. :von:

Forgive me for not holding my breath on this one.

Is it a major label? Otherwise we may not get Adam's songs, if rumours are to be believed...

I dunno what label it is BUT its ISNT KMs Label, its the label they are THINKING of signing to.

Dispite what you think KM are actually getting to be quite a big band these, days, certinally in the G O T H Scene.

Ok since we are all dreaming here,

may I suggest a producer?

Jim Steinman? Where are you?

And a proper bassist? Can we get a real one? Maybe Craig Adams since he's unemployed at the mo....or maybe even

Patricia? No I doubt she'd help him out again. And I wouldn't leave Dave alone either!

If it's true I will have sex with him on this board in front of all you. Just to celebrate!!!

Hmmm, Labels.... Mute (we all know what happened there) , Creation, XL, Poptones, or Def-Jam (before it went s**t) are the only ones I can see being useful, and tuned in to the Sissies potential :(

Oh God I'm Tired of bootlegs.

Producer: Flood.

Bassist: Me ;D Well, I can play Fix and Lucretia badly, very badly

yep, Flood is top, the only problem is, the albums he produces are more his than the artists by the end of it...

second option, Sisters fan of old, Steve Albini...

What about William Orbit producing the new stuff. Could be excellent!

I wonder which label it could be if this is really true.

or Stephen Street? - maybe Von is the best man for the job though, seems to know the sonic requirements now. Cue Logic Audio and a good sound room and off we go.....will be very pi*sed off if this is just a rumour.

Get Trevor Horn to produce it, he's just recently finished with TATU.

Maybe Von and Adam could have a TATU-esque snog halfway through
Slept.

hummmmm, the sisters and killing my panda on the same label, what's next:

them doing a double bill at whitby?¿?
von in a 'no, i'm really the god father of goth' shocker?¿?
That Guitarist admits to being totally f*cking crap and f*cks off to die someplace, really really slowly?¿?

you must be f*cking joking, i'd stop smoking whatever it is your currently smoking if i was you.

What is it exactly that you have against That Guitarist, What has he Ever done to you? and What Makes Andrew Eldritch so great? OK the Sisters Were a Brilliant band, but Eldritch has basically proved over the years that he is not a very nice man, and thats what most labels wont touch him with a 50 ft barge pole.

Ive ment several M i s s s o n members over the years, Simon I know the best and there all really down to earth decent chaps, Wwayne is one of the most tallented musicians I have ever seen so why diss him? he was a Vital part of the sisters.

The problem with the sisters has always been Eldritch cant write very good music oin his own, and by the post VT material proves the case, and if some of the stuff is co written with Adam then it doesnt say much for his songwirteing ability.

Im not saying the potential isnt there, but in my view the sisters will never ben aything like the quailty of the released albums without NEW blood in the band.

I second Steve Albini, definitely. Or AE. Or anyone, really.

Allfear - this discussion can go nowhere but in circles, but for me, AE has written the music for all the really great Sisters songs. I'd like him to just sit in a shed and write good stuff. I also think the Pierson songs are great, and think Starling would do a great job too. Since I've always rated side 2 or FALAA way above side 1, Gary Marx would be the best prior collaborator, followed by mr Hussey, then bringing home the rear, mr Bruhn. But this is silly, because it'll just start an argument, and we're all too excited to think about anything but unwrapping new Cds...
