At the risk of possibly going over old ground, which songs on VT would you consider the "rough" mixes, as per Von's comments at the time..?

Dr Jeep, it has a pumping theme but not pumping enough. The beat hasn't a BANG BANG but a bang bang bang bang

For me, Ribbons, Something Fast, When You Don't See Me and I Was Wrong.
But what do I know..?
But what do I know..?
My vote goes to Det Blvd, WYDSM and Dr Jeep. I agree on the WYDSM "remix" theory, it sounds pretty plausible. The rest of the songs sound too "finished" to me.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
You Could Be The One - it must have been done in one take.......Groovy

Ah, PiB... Cheeky as ever and no one even cares... A sad day indeed when no one bites at THAT bait.

Indeed, but almost certainly true. I'm sure the 'rough mixes' are simply tracks that are quite finished but missing the 3 months worth of overdubs. So we can count 'More' out.bismarck wrote:paint it black wrote:on the demos i have there is hardly any discernable difference, not like say, the this corrosion ones which stand out a mile as rough mixes

It doesn't matter whether Ribbons is raw or cooked, it's still the most astonishing 3-odd minutes of music ever committed to vinyl.

So what are these TC demos you have then PiB? would you like to share them with us over in the weeding forum or are cryptic comments alone the order of the day?!
Is this the place I used to know as Fatherland?
What's the point any more? This is a long running story with the same end result every time.bismarck wrote:paint it black wrote:on the demos i have there is hardly any discernable difference, not like say, the this corrosion ones which stand out a mile as rough mixes

Not that it's PiB's fault that things are this way, mind.
They're probably crap anyway.

as bismark so rightly pointed out, they don't exist...not even the belgian has the right version...it's all a myth.deadagain wrote:okay, may I?bismarck wrote:paint it black wrote:on the demos i have there is hardly any discernable difference, not like say, the this corrosion ones which stand out a mile as rough mixes

Does that include the fabled James Ray vocal versions?
Does anyone have a good clean & complete copy of the This Corrosion US college radio version? The only one I have heard is cut.
Is this the place I used to know as Fatherland?

Though it's probably better than the final version.

The "James Ray Corrosion Demo" is a myth. After 20 years, it's not surfaced anywhere... it simply does not exist.
