Ambient Intro
You have heard this before each concert during the last tours. Does anyone know if that ambient intro can be found anywhere? I read Von was the one who recorded it, but just in case... I find that music very interesting at this moment (Tetsu Inoue, etc.) ... just to continue with the "Bastards" album.

Yep, has to be spacetime. No other intro's were played during the last few years AFAIK.pearson wrote:you mean "spacetime"?

How do you know it's called "Spacetime"?pearson wrote:you mean "spacetime"?

Is it the official name or just a "bootleg name"?
I think it was named Spacetime on an official setlist.TheBoyNextDoor wrote:How do you know it's called "Spacetime"?

So that makes it the official name.
Some time ago someone here on heartland made his own version of the song. Pretty good and pretty close to the original.

Where do I find this version then..?
I know... Everyone is very tired, etc. If a generous soul could, however, post this homemade version of "Spacetime" I would pay with flesh.
Danke.
Danke.

Play it loud, hit the repeat button, close your eyes... and imagine the next one to arrive
Enjoy!

Do you mean 'Fly and Collision of Comas Sola' by Tangerine Dream?
They used that a fair few times, but don't know offhand were and when.

Hmm, as is by now trad, I'll have to wait for some kind soul to furnish me with a copy of the redone Spacetime.
Dunno what the 2000 intro was, Stu, but it's another belter, ace 'bassline' that thunders along like a train on ice.

Found this on http://tours.tsom.org/2000ttlf/czuczu wrote:What's the piece they played before the 2000 shows - kind of like an SSV thing but different?
This tour premiered new intros, which are best described as "Techno thingies". There are at least three of them, and in the first London gig two of them took 20 minutes; even so, the second one was obviously cut as the band appeared.
The music is electronic meditation, and is very good for getting in the right mood. I'd say it all was written by Andrew Eldritch himself -- he's responsible for most aspects of Sisters shows, and this is a major one.
Either way, it's definitely not Sisters material per se. Don't expect to find it on a Sisters CD. Moreover, they're obviously composed for specific purpose: they're full of false endings, during which audience amuses itself by thinking the main show is starting. Anyway, I really hope to come across unofficial show recording with intros intact.

Now, is it just me or were they using some different intro this year?
When we were waiting for them to start at the HOB in Las Vegas, these two girls next to me were yelling (at no one in particular) to cut out the "native american" music. I can't even remember if they played the same intro at the Electric Factory.
Listening to the bootlegs from this year from the internet, the intros all sound similar to "A night with Dr.", but they also sound a bit different. The created intro seems kind of...blah in comparison.
Oh well, I guess it doesn't really matter. It's kind of a disappointment we'll never get to hear good clean versions of the intros, anyway; they really start to grow on you.

I'm quite sure in Las Vegas this year (and also at all 2006 gigs I was lucky to see / hear) they used the same Spacetime as they did - for example - in 2002, 2003 and 2005. but at 2002 and 2003 gigs it was longer... right now I can't remember how long was it at 2005 gigs, bloody senility
PS haven't had luck to download your track yet, can't comment.

Haha, well, I have really bad memory, too, thanks to an "'old people's' illness". My memories of both gigs I was at this year are really hazy already.
The more I think about it, the intro the girls were talking about may have been played before even The Warlocks took stage--so it might have been something from the HOB itself. I don't remember much of it at all (I don't even remember if it was any interesting or not!), just that it did contain some kind of flute...
I'm pretty sure I remember hearing the "Spacetime" intro at one (or both) of the gigs I was at; so really, I don't know what I'm talking about.
Even so, the "Spacetime" tune as I remember it is still quite different from that mp3 clip.
And sorry about downloading; I lurk, but I still don't understand all the best/worst places to upload things (faulty memory again ).

no problem, I think it was my problem but finally (after an hour or so) I could download it. I still would say it's at least Spacetime theme
but they have shortened Spacetime - it was longer (at least) a couple of years ago (as I said there's a black hole in my memory about 2005 shows at this point but I have to check again, maybe some 2005 recording has the intro as well).
and... again a memory problem ... now I really wanted someone to help me remember what was played before The Warlocks...
(I remember I liked Warlocks' music at the gigs but didn't like so much their 2 records which I bought but that's a completely different story.)
