Christmas Dinner Arrangements. BUT ITS ONLY OCTOBER!!!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Today I have somehow been involved in the arrangments of not one but two Christmas Dinners.
First, at work my manager sent an email to us all giving us the low down on this years christmas meal and asking us to reply with our menu choices!
Then this evening we go and arrange that this year we will be having the In-Laws, my parents AND my brother and his girlfriend over to ours for Christmas Dinner (I'm gonna need a bigger oven!).

But I still cant get round the fact that Its only October and its just wrong.
or is it? Am I the only one planning christmas before summer has completely finished?

Yes and no.

Yes, cos it's only October, FFS!!!

No, cos if you don't everywhere will be booked out.

We've already had to cancel one planned night out cos it was totally booked.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Not at all. It's October ferchrissakes, of course it should be all sorted (tm the missus  ). Got our works do paid for (The Village, 'Eadingley) and this year we're off to the in-laws new gaff on xmas day, so I'm told. Sure sounds better than cooking for 43ish, as I somehow managed, through an Egg Nog blur, last year.

Due to no-one ever bothering at our place it always ends up in the offices in a bit of a Sunshine Desserts style so no, it's not too early.

My personal Christmas was organised in May, but then I was booking a flight to New Zealand.. :innocent:

Mrs Streamline is currently arranging both Christmas Day (invaded by the mother-in-law :urff: ) and New Years Eve (don't care where we go as long as I'm rat-arsed! and the m-i-l is nowhere to be seen) :D

Works do? Couldn't give a f**k if they all died.

It was alright when I was last there for an xmas do, but that was 4-5 years back. Ah well, I'm sure I'll find the ways and means of enjoying myself regardless. A huge bong and an personal stereo sounds good.

Last year's Christmas Family Gathering Thingy let everyone down a bit (not the food, but some family members ) so don't have a clue what we'll do, but as long as there's proper food and stuff it's all fine by me 8)

Planning? Pah, amateurs...

Two weeks ago I handed in all my present lists for xMas.

Don't talk me about Early Bird arrangements.

Now excuse me while I go and pen down my Easter wishlist...

aye...same here...Works chrimbo party is in Colchester town hall FFS!...the damage that could be caused is off the scale...so i'll not be going to that...

chrimbo drinkies are gonna be in a pub at the furthest end of the street from the station so it'll have to be taxis to the station...which means less beer money...

some people have their priorties all f**ked up!
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light,

Chrimbo drinkies always go wrong down my way.

Here's a pub we all like.
And it's conveniently located for everyone.
And everyone's available that night.

And yet we're not doing it.

Why :?: :?: :?:
