are any of you gits

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I'm a Git but I wouldn't be caught drunk at either of those events.

Won't be there, alas, but am still a git (that *was* a 2-part question, wasn't it?)

Sorry I didn't make it to the Psubklutyure in September - was unavoidably delayed by some people in dark glasses and ill-fitting suits who took a rather-too personal interest in some of the things I was bringing back from Syria. Apparently they weren't prepared to believe that

was actually a picture of Brian Blessed. Go figure...

WHO? EDGAR?
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Nothing is about being too Goth.... .or too anything. It's about loving music and loving the ridiculousness in the world, which is why everyone is here.
That's why you should all be going to every event you can manage , whether it's one of Sarah's ,a Whitby , a Manic Monday a Manc Quiff Do , or A Leeds' Heartland do............all music is great if it hits you at the right moment.
In fact music is the greatest thing in the world, all music,!
You have a finite existence make the most of it , don't waste it!
Icicle Works next week , then Paradise Lost , slip in a bit of Fairport Convention then finish it off with oooooooh let s see
Get out there ............there's some very nice B+B'S in Whitby! Stroll across the viaduct gorgeous in the late Autumn sun and only afew mad dogs.
Great fish and chips near the station

And I'm far away.

And busy.

Not being one to gossip or spread disquiet but....
I've heard rumblings of much moaning about Whitby's lack of actual "Goth" acts, So much so that they've had to open an overspill event at The Met that promises "No Metal and no bleepy stuff-Just Trad goth and alternative".
I'm still not going though.
And as for Wendyhouse,I don't get it.Why is it full of goths when they play about 2 or three token Goth tracks at the beginning of the night then nothing else? Not going there either, ever again.

That.

The final straw for me was when they played Nerf Herder's theme from Buffy The Vampire Slayer with a complete and utter lack of irony.

And people danced.

That same night, mrs fiend got called "pretentious" by the DJ for asking him to play The Cramps. We've not been back. :|

they changed music policy a couple of months back now - they no longer religate the goth music to the beginning of the evening and there's a fair amount more of it. it doesn't actually ever promise to be a goth night though - I like most of the music they play regardless of its genre (I can't really handle nights that stick too rigidly to one genre - I clearly have adhd or whatever it's called)

hey whitbys all about wandering round eating at cafes and sitting in pubs all day being surrounded by lots of goths - there's nothing quite like seeing someone do the dance machine in the arcade whilst wearing winkle pickers...

although I am looking forward to the damned. <3 ;)

I haven't been back since I told the DJ it was my b'day (was a lie though) & begged him to play anything by The Sisters for me. He said he'd think about it, & proceeded to play absolutely nothing by The Sisters even though I kept asking him.

Too many people with the fake fangs posing etc for me too.

As for Whitby, nah, too far.
