I've spoke a few words and shaked hands with Andy from Therapy? , and got autographs from the rest of the cast, off a friend who was a bit more sober then i was , and on the same night i've spoken to Marco/igor/fred/frank of the Heideroosjes they all signed a HR shirt .
It was a great night

Had the pleasure of meeting Jon Pertwee about 15 years ago ... extremely charismatic and a real gentleman.d00mw0lf wrote:Met Peter Davison a few years ago. He's still my least-favorite Doctor. Met Tom Baker too and he was fab.
Ah memories - you'll be too young to remember The Ultimate Adventure...

i've had some meaningful correspondence with both members of old GGFH, David Michael of C93, and got even a reply from the criminal and so-called ex-World Chess Champion Garry Kasparov once.
Mind you, only the Kasparov thing was fan-stuff, though his reply was personal.
Plus of course i have discussions few times a month with Nietzsche, Sokrates and Crowley.
Though to a lot of celebs it's very hard to get through to the human being versions of them, i think with anyone worthwhile it is possible. But in actuality there's very few of them who are worth approaching anyway.
Now only if knew how to approach Eldritch...

Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music.( he owned Expression records - Rosetta's label), had a chance to thumb through his music collection and gold discs and try on the infamous 'fly' glasses he used to wear on stage. We used to record at his home studio .
Sent off and received signed photos of Mulder and Scully after watching the very first episode of X-Files on Sky from their fan club in L.A.
Signed photo of Giles (Anthony Head) from Buffy and Gemma Atkinson from Hollyoaks (both now framed) - yup, I'm sad but thought Buffy was one of THE best shows ever produced.
This is one the best threads this site as ever had..by the way!

A postcard from Justin Sullivan
Autograph from Hooky on New Order's Run 2 12"
Met and shook hands with Russ Abbott after bumping into him in Soho in 92 or 93 - took a picture (must get the scanner sorted) and he asked "where do you want me - up against this wall..." then realised it wasn't the best choice of phrase for a soho backstreet. A very likeable and down to earth chap.

A couple of months ago, was in the Philamonic Pub in Liver-puuuuule 'avin a quiet drink with amate, when in walked the Pet Shop Boys! My mate almost died - big fan you see. Had a lengthy chat about this'n'that.
Met L.A Guns when working at the NEC in Brum, lovely bunch of guys - currently residing in the were are they now file?
Paul Oakenfold loads of times @ Cream in Liverpool. Not a bad bloke for a Chelsea fan.
I'm always in total awe of 'celebs' even though they are just human beings like you and me, there's always that "That person who wrote/sang/acted in.. and they are standing right there!!"
When the Mishun were on the Tube, stood next to Jools Holland for a bit, he's a like a leprachuan (?) . I felt like Brad Pitt ( if he'd been famous back then) that day!!
Got Youth from Killing Joke's autograph back in 1980 at the Royal Court in Liverpool - he spelt his name wrong!!
I'll be back with further tales from further down the rabbit hole later.

I'm with Canon Docre on this one...
Most of the time I touched celebs was because they were trying to steal beer out of OUR backstage after they offed their 96 cans of cheap lager.
Most of the peeps were upcoming Black Metalbands anyway. Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borir, Within Temptation Island, In The Woods, Summoning...
Of late, of course Front 242, but also Terence Fixmer and other electro/dance people.
IZ.
