Breast Cancer Awareness Day

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Who else will be wearing PINK on the 27th?
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

I don't mean to be a c**t or anything but I can't seem to understand Breast Cancer Awareness day at all. As it stands it recieves an incredible amount of research money and promotion. Does it need any more?

it's not just about the money...it's about raising the awareness of women and men to the detection of cancer...

the money can't replace your loved ones

They're not doing that great a job of raising awareness. This thread is the first I've heard of Breast Cancer Awareness Day.

I lost 2 aunts to it, so I'd say "yes, more money" any day of the week!

:notworthy: @ everyone who supports this!
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Though I do support Breast Cancer Awareness (mainly due to the fact that my mum has recently been through the experience), I think it's a shame that prostate cancer isn't "promoted" (wrong word) more through the use of blue ribbons and awareness days.

i hear what you're saying Libby but i think that all the different charities each having their own day would be overkill...for some it's already reached saturation point...and i can understand the point raised by Gollam...

eventually we would be walking into a potential charity week every day of the year...

on a happier note...the guys and gals that i work with (and it stands at just 22 people) managed to raise £72.00 which is fantastic IMHO

:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: to all who took pink to work today
