Dominion Mailing List

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Question - how do I get back on it? Can't remember how I did originally (back in 96/97 or something) and I dropped off it in 02 when Quiffy set this place up (partly due to a fun (not) flame war I ended up having with some guy calling himself the Phoenix - anyone remember him?).

Is it still going, and is it worth me rejoining? If so, where is it?

tia.

It can't be any worse than it was, surely. Is it the same bunch of illiterates who hang round here?

And how do I get on it (in case I was stupid enough to want to do so).

Can't help with that, I'm afraid.

But I really, really think you'd be wasting your time. There's never any news or comments of note on Dominion that wouldn't find their way here (that's ignoring the stuff that's copied & pasted from Heartland anyway).

Childish insults. Worse trolls than on here. Boring, repetitive arguments. Really man, don't bother.

Is it why the Official Site mentions Dominion and not HL ? :innocent:

Cheers dude. If it's as bad as you say I'll filter it straight to my junk.

So to speak.

Nah, it's mostly a different bunch of illiterates.

I remember being really happy to have signed up to Dominion initially (before I discovered the wonderful world here :notworthy: ).

Got to the point though where I was deleting without even reading them as they were full of total & utter drivel. Then one day, they just stopped coming. Can't say I've missed it.

Not worth it as far as I'm concerned.

I've been on and off dominion several times. I'm currently on, but I've posted there approximately 10 times in total ever.

Compare and contrast the amount of nonsense I've posted on here.

I'm currently on, but I never post. It was great when it was the only thing available, and I suppose it serves a purpose for those who prefer things to be that way, but no, it's not for me.

I agree, I was on it in 1990 onwards and it was an absolute godsend for those of us stuck in the middle of nowhere (Aberystwyth) and being one of the few Sisters fans for 200 miles!

It soon went downhill though
But then I found here :D

Couldn't agree more, utter drivel on Dominion when I was there, but I *think* I discovered HL through Dominion.

I joined Dominion shortly after finding this place...and regretted it. Never posted anything, I just didn't see the point. Think I managed to put up with the drivel for about a month or so. I got the impression that the majority of Dominion's members needed to turn around and finally catch a glimmer of the light at the end of the tunnel before they get run over by the freight train we Heartlanders hitched a lift on...

Ah, factions within factions, wheels within wheels, plans within plans...

(Sorry, I've been listening to Afterhours...again. For some reason it always reminds me of Dune, particularly the Fremen).
I don't necessarily agree with everything I think.

Yeah, that'd be them.

"The spice must flow."
"What was that Andrew?"
"Sorry...I meant, have you got anymore speed?"

I've been rather tempted (but thought better of it) of doing a Sisters compliation of songs that would fit well with various passages read from the book.

Dominion has served a purpose over the years. If I am in a position to buy -bat a drink for putting up with the nonsense for so long, I will do so.
