Looks like the reissue budget did stretch to some promotion after all.
This month's Uncut has 2 adverts. One is a full-pager "HMV recommends" thing, including the 3 Sissies LPs and the Rhino "Gothic Box" thing. The other is a half pager dedicated to the Sissies alone (yayyy!) which makes mention of the 85 mixes of FALAA.
Both feature the wrong cover art for FALAA.

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Sounds like the same one as in the Record Collector.
Here's the main advert: http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l285/ ... tSmall.jpg
Linked cos the file size is a bit large and I don't wanna slaughter anyone's bandwidth.

That's garbage - they can't even be arsed to dig out caslon antique for the type.
"You do realize you're talking to a man with a human head in his hands who has every intention of using it to beat these people to death?"
That's pretty much what I thought at first, but then I reckoned that any promotion is positive, and at least it's not of the misleading type. The more people that buy the CDs, the more it will flag the signal that there is still interest in the Sissies, and therefore the more likely we are to be able to say that a new LP is a realistic prospect.
Letting people know that they exist is always good.

Same goes for the inlays for the CDs. Weren't the disc labels a bit on the crappy side as well?Jim wrote:That's garbage - they can't even be arsed to dig out caslon antique for the type.

The advert is also a top half page on the back of this months Bizarre Magazine (& The Sisters are mentioned in the bottom half page advert too!).
I think it looks good.

all fool you then !RetroGoth wrote:Not bought a Sisters bootleg for 16 years!
seriously though - I'm embarissed by this release. skipping tracks,
band name and album name printed wrong...... its pathetic that they
can't even get these basic things right, when they know it's a band
who's audience care about this kind of stuff. and it's remastered?
is it really?? this record company is too lazy to get the same font on
the cd poster as is on ALL THREE of the cd's....you think they really pulled
the stops out to do a good job of the remaster? I don't think so.
it's a cheap, poor cash in. as for thinking it indicates a new release....
blissful thinking, but totally unfounded IMO.
